I have ordered and will read it. I have had both doses, but have an open mind to those who have not. I think it would be interesting to get their view. /

PLEASE STOP... JUST STOP THE MADNESS!
Why are people in New South Wales lining up for hours to be tested for COVID-19? Do they want the holidays period cancelled?
If you're not sick, there is no need to be tested. In fact, even if you have some minor symptoms, just don't do it.
No tests = no cases. We need to stop the madness.
Perhaps PCR tests should no longer be subsidised? Put a fee on them. A price signal will stop people getting them.

Western Australia has finally joined the club with community spread. A big event, 400 people. Yep, they are isolating, but would have been in the community for days.
Too bad it is delta and not omicron. It is the most deadly strain.
South Australia on the other hand has omicron and therefore hardly any hospitalisations, even with their high numbers.
Staying closed might be the worst thing for Western Australia. Stay closed and delta will be the only strain. Open and get omicron to get rid of it.

I see Hugh Jackman has tested positive for covid in New York after an outbreak hit the Broadway production he is starring in. The Aussie actor confirmed his infection in a Instagram video posted so fans could “hear it” from him.
“I tested positive for Covid. Mild symptoms and as soon as I’m cleared … looking forward to getting back to The Winter Garden! he captioned the clip.
“My symptoms are like a cold, I have like a scratchy throat and bit of a runny nose but I’m fine. And I’m just gonna do everything I can to get better ASAP.
“And as soon as I’m cleared I’ll be back on stage heading to River City. So just wanted you to hear from me. So please stay safe, be healthy, be kind.”
The 53-year-old began starring in The Music Man on Broadway before Christmas but just days later his co-star Sutton Foster came down with Covid. Now, with its second lead in isolation, the production has cancelled all performances until New Year’s Day with Jackman out of action until at least January 6.
New York is currently in the midst of a major Omicron surge - same as here.

It is a minor infection.
A few people at church have it and none of them are overly sick. I visited one (I know, it is against the rules) two days ago and they say all they have is a runny nose.
A severe cough is not even a symptom these days.
The virus has mutated drastically and for the better. It is MILD, time to get on with it.

Well then I wish you and the virus a joyful coupling. Just remember to keep your new found love affair completely exclusive. No sharing with anyone else! But look on the bright side: you and your virus can closet together in the greatest intimacy keeping yourselves exclusively to each other and forsaking all others. Now how good is that, as your Pentecostal prime miniature would say!

Omicron is “not the same disease we were seeing a year ago” and high Covid death rates in the UK are “now history”, a leading immunologist has said.
Sir John Bell, regius professor of medicine at Oxford University and the government’s life sciences adviser, said that although hospital admissions had increased in recent weeks as Omicron spreads through the population, the disease “appears to be less severe and many people spend a relatively short time in hospital”. Fewer patients were needing high-flow oxygen and the average length of stay was down to three days, he said.
Speaking on Tuesday, Paul Hunter, a professor in medicine at the University of East Anglia, said people with Covid should eventually be allowed to “go about their normal lives” as they would with a common cold.
“This is a disease that’s not going away. Ultimately, we’re going to have to let people who are positive with Covid go about their normal lives as they would do with any other cold,” he told BBC Breakfast. “If the self-isolation rules are what’s making the pain associated with Covid, then we need to do that perhaps sooner rather than later. Maybe not quite just yet.
Covid is only one virus of a family of coronaviruses, and the other coronaviruses throw off new variants typically every year or so, and that’s almost certainly what’s going to happen with Covid. It will become effectively just another cause of the common cold.
NSW Health said most of the 625 people currently in hospital had not received two doses of the vaccine. I believe that the virus is winding down. It can be spread more easily but the symptoms are much milder. A lot more people will get it but they won't suffer from severe symptoms and won't have to be hospitalised. Basically those who are hospitalised will be the aged and those with comorbidities and who are immunocompromised. I don't really have any fear of the virus. And much maligned AstraZeneca appears to be more beneficial than we were led to believe by the naysayers.

I'm hoping that this is the virus's last hurrah before it settles down to an endemic seasonal flu like status. Is it going out with a bang? We can only wait and see .... however those who haven't been vaccinated will eventually meet up with this virus some time soon. Because it won't ever go away ... and you can't hide from it forever.

The left would love for it to go on forever. Look at Mark McGowan, won't even open.
Omicron will rip through NSW and it'll die down. I bet that is when Mark McGowan will think it is safe.
But it won't be.
Dying down in a jurisdiction where everyone has been exposed will provide zero protection in Western Australia. The state will have to eventually go through the same thing.
It is up to Mark McGowan when that happens.

Omicron.
It amuses me how you can make the average person fear the common cold just by changing its name. 😎

A pandemic of the unvaccinated? Not so much. Still, the good news is that Omicron is way less deadly than Delta.

WE HAVE BEEN LIED TO! “A reasonable proportion of cases being classified as Covid hospitalisations are actually people with other reasons for admission,” NSW health minister Brad Hazzard said. “Heart attacks, births, falls, none of that stops just because there is Covid. They come into hospital, they have a swab taken and it confirms Covid. “This shows us its out in the community, but we aren’t necessarily seeing that as the primary reason for all of the admissions.”

New South Wales.... 45,098 new cases and 9 deaths. Victoria................. 51,356 new cases and 9 deaths. Victoria is now showing Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) results as well as the usual PCR ones which is the reason for the huge jump in cases from yesterday. (I think a few days worth of RAT tests were included.)

If I test positive on a RAT, I will not report. I'll stay home until my symptoms subside so as to not spread it.
But why would I want to add to the numbers the government uses against the people?

Now, hard on the heels of Flucron we have Deltacron which is a new variant combining the Delta and Omicron strains. This one could be very deadly! And much easier to pass on as well.
