This is why I loathe Juliar. When she came on our tv screens to make her speech after she won the leadership of the Labor Party, I was impressed! Her "impromptu" speech, her clothes, her makeup, her hair, everything was so perfect. Amazing I thought, how she could get everything right on the spur of the moment like that. How mistaken I was. Her speech was written months in advance - the clothes selected weeks beforehand in anticipation.

After the realisation of what had actually happened there was disallusionment because I really thought that having a female PM might change things for the better. I somehow thought that a female might even have - dare I say - more integrity and honesty than a male. How wrong I was. She turned out to be a backstabbing bitch, a lying, conniving bitch who would do anything to make history and become the first female PM of Australia.

I can only hope that she will face the courts for her lying and scheming part in the union funds ripoff with her boyfriend. One thing we know for certain ... she was certainly not young or naive. Yet she actually thinks she can use that as an excuse?

Most females can recognise this trait in Juliar for what it is and they are not fooled easily like some stupid leftie males.

JULIA Gillard is a control freak who manufactured a leadership crisis to become PM in a "classic stitch-up" of Kevin Rudd, according to a new political memoir.

Former star Labor recruit and ABC broadcaster Maxine McKew has delivered the blistering assessment in a new book, Tales From The Political Trenches.

Party chiefs are furious the book's release has been timed to reignite Labor's leadership wars in the traditional leadership "killing zone", the final parliamentary sitting week of the year.

The Sunday Telegraph can reveal the book accuses Ms Gillard's supporters of cooking up a false story to trigger the leadership crisis.

The Prime Minister had long maintained her decision to challenge Mr Rudd for the leadership was only made on the day, a view Ms McKew dismisses as a fiction.

On June 23, the day of the leadership showdown, it was reported Mr Rudd's chief-of-staff Alister Jordan was sounding out MPs on the leadership, a clear sign he did not trust Ms Gillard's pledges of loyalty. Colleagues say the report enraged Ms Gillard, who confronted Mr Rudd in the prime minister's office before issuing a leadership challenge.

But Ms McKew contends it was all a fig leaf to cover the plot to seize the leadership.

"It was totally manufactured," Ms McKew writes in her book.

"To make any sense at all the leak had to come from Gillard supporters.

"Was this a case of mock outrage by Gillard?"

But Labor MP Michael Danby has revealed for the first time that he was one of many MPs Mr Jordan spoke to and he believed the subtle soundings to be about the leadership.

"My impression was that Alister was visiting a lot of people who were critics," Mr Danby told The Sunday Telegraph.

A senior Labor MP has also told The Sunday Telegraph Ms Gillard had been sounding out MPs and visited him on the Monday to discuss the government's fortunes.

"Gillard was up to her eyeballs in the whole thing," he said. "She called me around to her office on the Monday. I said we should back Rudd in. She gave me a bit of a non-response. In retrospect, it was a very strange conversation." Ms McKew dismissed suggestions the November 1 release date was about stoking leadership tensions, arguing it was simply about pre-Christmas sales. "I have certainly reviewed the events leading up to Rudd's removal as leader. To produce a memoir where I did not mention this exceptional event would not have been credible," she said.

"I am aware this book will cause discomfort for some in the Labor Party. Others will welcome it."

Labor insiders predicted the book would prove "explosive". Some Labor officials have turned on Ms McKew, accusing her of throwing a "hissy fit" during the 2010 campaign and throwing away her prize seat of Bennelong, which she won from John Howard in 2007.

"She effectively went on strike," a Labor source said. "Her view was she had beaten Howard and she couldn't lose."

Did you read Pickering's latest article yesterday about Hedley Thomas providing info and documents that clearly show Gillard's complicity in the fraud and Slater and Gordon's efforts to hide the evidence??

This story will NOT go away no matter how much Gillard tries to deny it. And then Gillardgate will destroy her and the Labor Party and the unions - not that they aren't doing a great job of that themselves.

I think I was the only Labor supporter on Newstalkback of old that had rendered support for Rudd and think he was given the rough end of a pineapple at the time,... essentially Kev was considered by the caucus as autocratic and became unpopular with them neglecting the fact he was popular with the people, such as it is Kev cannot return to leadership because of the animosity by Labor caucus who were thinking of themselves and their own grasp for power...such is politics Julia Gillard is the leader where certainty is she is a whole heap better than dumbarse Abbotts.

In short Maxine is not telling us something new...good luck with the book....one for the sneeringly snide conservatives to lap up..

Kevin Rudd was miles ahead of Juliar in terms of leadership.

The reason why they shafted him was because they didn't like the fact he "led" and called the shots. The union bosses expect the leader to do as they're told, and when they were not getting that obedience from Rudd, they got rid of him.

"The demise of unions", Stellar would this be a good thing in your opinion? I have never belonged to a union, but I have always believed they are essential to protect the workers, even though I accept there is some thuggery and corruption within some of them.

An instance is one of my daughters, a secondary school teacher, she had not been paid for six weeks, and no amount of enquiry would fix the matter. I suggested she seek the help of the union, and she then received her pay within three days.

I can't imagine how your daughter wouldn't be paid Sonex. I have never been in that situation. I belong to the NSW Nurses and Midwives Association. (They have just added the "midwives" to the name.) I belong because there are some benefits to belonging and it is a reputable union.

Unlike the HSU which represents all the other employees in our workplace. Most of those employees are immigrants who have never belonged to a union and never will after seeing the debacle of the HSU and its leaders. They believe all unions are corrupt and you can't blame them. After all, you yourself state that you accept "there is some thuggery and corruption in some of them." Too many of them for my liking.

And then there is Juliar who aided and abetted that sort of corruption when setting up slush funds for her boyfriend.

McKwho (as she was called because no one in Benelong ever saw her) is bitter. She expected a free ride without having to work for it. She really got nothing out of her attack on Howard. She lasted one term, got rid of a statesman (who even had the class, dignity and humility to show up to the announcement of McKwho as the winner function), wasn't thanked for it by her party, dumped straight after and threw a dummy spit. Labor used her and threw her out, and it was exactly what she deserved.

BUT, she is right on this. I said before the 2007 election that before the next election, Gillard would have knifed Rudd. Yet Darjeeling and others scoffed at me. I knew. I mean, face it, it was said on the 2007 Australian Story that she hated Rudd's guts. Why else would she enter into a leadership duo with him, if not to be one step away? Jesus Christ, it stuck out to me like dogs balls. But not to others on here especially lefties. Her bitchiness, her ruthlessness, her conniving, scheming and manipulativeness was evident to me before 2007 election. I would NEVER trust her if I were a Labor MP, and remember I said Rudd should sleep with at least one eye open? No. She and Labor had this planned before the 2007 election. She was always going to knife Rudd mid-way through the term, regardless of how well Rudd was travelling. Only a fool couldn't see that.

Pmsl, and didn't Howard chop Keating up thinner than stir-fry strips? ;D Seeing that monstrous and hateful thug and cocky bully Keating go down was the sweetest election defeat/victory of all time for me still. Nothing spurred me on harder to campaign for the Liberals than Keating's regime and his arrogance. What a loathesome arsehole, a term of nothiness he brought. A term best forgotten when compared to the greats like Curtin and Hawke. I think he was what spurred me into being a member. Seeing that piece of shit go down was like winning the lottery. Would Keating or any Labor member do the same? Say what you want about his politics, Howard was a leader, a statesman and a true gentleman through and through.
