I was referring to Howard. Over 10 years in power, what achievements did he leave us with?
None.

Lets see; Gun laws reforming of the tax system a competitive economy which paid of Labor's debt want me to go on? He was certainly one of the best Prime Ministers we've ever had. Not the best, but most certainly one of the best. Those 11 years of a profitable and happy and comfortable Australia certainly look good right about now given the mess Labor always creates, the uncertainty and the heartache. Prime Ministers especially statesmen like Howard come along but once in a blue moon. We were very lucky to have experienced Mr Howard as a PM, and I have no doubt many voters regret being deceived by Rudd, Gillard and Howes in 2007.

Hmmm: Gun laws - knee jerk reaction because of one lunatic. He would not have done this without Martin Bryant. It wasn't an actual policy of the liberals before they got in. Reforming of the tax system - introducing the GST was not a reform. It was just a new tax which was supposed to replace other taxes. It hasn't. A competitive economy which paid of Labor's debt - that is not an achievement! But spelling 'off' correctly could be! Where are the buildings? Where is the policy to hang your hat on? Where is the 'Medicare'? Where is the Sydney Harbour Bridge? Where is the environment that was saved? Where is the single piece of legislation where someone can say 'I'm glad Howard made that'? 10 wasted years. And who is Howes?

Labor supported the gun policy. Do catch up. Same as Gillard didn't introduce a flood levy before Qld flood - there was no need to. Such petty bs you come up with. "It wasn't an actual policy of the liberals before they got in." Neither was Labor's carbon tax...... Your point is........ Any more petty bs that has no relation to the topic?
The GST was indeed a reform one that has benefited many people.
Having a competitive economy which paid off debt is very much so an achievement.
So to you, unless a govt builds some fcking bridge or introduces something that was already introduced, its a 'failure'? So managing a country and an economy and keeping it going isn't enough for you? Wtf? You can't be serious?! You need someone to create a monstrous ugly fcking bridge for the govt to have done something? I think most normal human beings would prefer a steady but stable govt than a govt that WASTES MONEY on trivial stupid things like that. Oh, and I forgot. Environment Fund, Green Corps.....
You haven't heard of Paul Howes? The AWU Secretary who was the architect behind the Rudd ambush, and who was even interviewed on the day and numerous times after on the issue? Google him.

Apart from accountants, do tell us who has benefited from the GST? As I said, the gun laws only occured due to the actions of one lunatic. Had Howard done that to PREVENT something like Port Arthur happening, that would have been an achievement.
Paul Howes - which seat does he hold?
Where is the Nation building? Where are the achievements? You haven't named one.

if you feel that Howard deserves no credit for legislation which you say should have been in place B4 the massacre...
then look at the date of Port Arthur...Look at the date of Howards election..
if it was as obvious b4 Port Arthur as you say... why hadnt Labor bought the guns back b4 Howard even came to power?
as at the date of Port Arthur.. who had been in government more during the last, say, 13 fucking years? during which, btw,the Hawke Keating years, there had been -three--major gun massacres in Australia, 2 in Victoria, one NSW.. and not so far away,eh, an even worse one than those , in NZ..
hell, 2 in UK even.. Did Labor sleep though all of that? But you can double-guess John Howard, barely in office when Port Arthur happened? idiot.

I guess everyones idea of what an achievement is is the real question here, like with you for instance a fantastic achievement by a PM would probably be killing a thousand boat people, destroying the cattle industry, stealing union funds and protecting weirdos and crooks, stabbing an elected PM in the back, lying to get into office, that sort of stuff ;D
