Come on pim as an insider you surely know that 9/10ths of the education budget go's on pampering the people employed there, the kiddies education being a very distant second consideration.

Oh really? And where do you get that staggering bit of insight from? Well I don't expect you to fess up to it being a major beneficiary and all but there is no denying that the kids have never been dumber and the amount of money spent on education has never been greater.

I haven't been inside a classroom for several years now so I dunno how I could be any sort of beneficiary, let alone a "major" one.
Notice how Garfield sticks in an adjective here, a loaded verb there ...
What makes you say the kids are "dumber"? Please, garfield, can you justify that claim without any sweeping statements or hopeless generalisations? You'll make me think you're really just a bit of a clown and that I don't have to take you seriously.
As for the last astounding bit in your #30, I'll believe you when the day dawns that schools get everything they need with no expense spared, and the air force has to hold a cake stall to raise the money to buy a bomber.

My daughter, who has just started teaching "up the bush", has had one of her students come back with an IQ score of 44 today. You hail from up the bush don't you Garfluff? I wouldn't tell everyone what a pathetic teacher she is if I were you Earl

What with a board clown who whinges because he makes unfounded generalisations that are so loopy that people don't really feel like taking him seriously, and a manic obsessive who attributes grandiose attributes to himself and does a giant dummy spit when people tell him to piss off because he's spamming the board ... I guess I can find other more productive things to do ...

I wouldn't tell everyone what a pathetic teacher she is if I were you Earl She has just started Garfluff ... so it's a result of previous teachers. Well there you go then you have just supported my own argument, never in the fields of public service has so much been spent for so little ;D

Well, garfield? Is this one of your unfounded sweeping claims based on uninformed generalisations? What "generous teachers super fund" is that? Are you saying you don't have a better deal than Joe the factory worker? ( not talking Holdens here of course ). I have about as much idea of what Joe the factory worker's retirement arrangements are as Joe the factory worker has of teachers' retirement packages. I will venture this little guess, and I'm more than happy to be wrong: if Joe the factory worker has managed to stay in his job long enough to retire, chances are he was originally Giuseppe from Calabria who came out to Australia back decades ago. He quite probably owns several properties plus a few other ventures that he and his family have sunk $$$ into over the years; he's probably given his daughter a sumptuous wedding, spends a fortune on his grandchildren and he and Mamma Giuseppe probably live very comfortably and go to Italy to hang out in the piazza of their ancestral village every other year. What do you know about teachers' superannuation arrangements, garield?

Now we both know that Joe the factory worker only gets the bare minimum legally mandated super percentage, unlike the public service that don't have the same constraints that private enterprise has ie. making a profit and keeping within their means, no, if they want a bit more they just take it from Joe.

Ahh so it's the public service now, not just teachers! Yes they have a more generous package than the average worker, of course teachers are even more pampered being closer to politicians arrangements.

You're getting thrashed senseless in this debate and you really cannot see it, can you ? If you want a reference point to help you catch up, you might want to read post # 48 and reflect on what Pim was saying there.

Are they? How so? I understand that the super fund I paid into no longer exists for new recruits. But how are the current arrangements - and remember they aren't the arrangements I had access to and I'd be surprised if you were up to speed with all the changes that have been made to public service super. Are you talking about SA Super? Sorry! Nothing to do with me! Are you taslking about the PSS? Sorry! Nothing to do with me! Are you talking about NSW State Super? Sorry! Nothing to do with me! Qld? WA? Sorry! Nothing to do with me!!
So what the f*** are you talking about you ill-informed ignoramus?

Why are you so embarrassed that you got a better deal than everyone else?, Now comes more of the garfield bullshit. He makes a statement that he plucks out of thin air and presents it as fact. In fact in that one sentence there are two bullshit statements. Of course I deserve it. I paid into it over many years. But the bullshit assumption - which is that Garfield claims to be up to speed with public service superannuation arrangements that went through several changes during my working life, and have changed again since I retired, runs through the whole sentence. You really don't know what you're talking about, Garfield. You wouldn't know the name of the specific fund that I paid into and which now pays my retirement income. Stop wasting my time. Garfield, the embarassment you must feel when your abysmal ignorance is exposed, is only mitigated by the fact that, as Bender puts it in his usual pithy way, you're a f***ing idiot. <sigh>
