I remember this was done to death (could be a bad pun) on the old NOCC board but might be worth a revisit here where it isn't killing another topic's discussion.

It's all a Numbers game isn't it? Good ol' Moses who had (supposedly) received the Commandments including: Thou shalt not kill ... Seemed to have a very short memory! Numbers 31 King James Version31 And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying, 2 Avenge the children of Israel of the Midianites: afterward shalt thou be gathered unto thy people. 3 And Moses spake unto the people, saying, Arm some of yourselves unto the war, and let them go against the Midianites, and avenge the Lord of Midian.
4 Of every tribe a thousand, throughout all the tribes of Israel, shall ye send to the war.5 So there were delivered out of the thousands of Israel, a thousand of every tribe, twelve thousand armed for war. 6 And Moses sent them to the war, a thousand of every tribe, them and Phinehas the son of Eleazar the priest, to the war, with the holy instruments, and the trumpets to blow in his hand. 7 And they warred against the Midianites, as the Lord commanded Moses; and they slew all the males. 8 And they slew the kings of Midian, beside the rest of them that were slain; namely, Evi, and Rekem, and Zur, and Hur, and Reba, five kings of Midian: Balaam also the son of Beor they slew with the sword. 9 And the children of Israel took all the women of Midian captives, and their little ones, and took the spoil of all their cattle, and all their flocks, and all their goods.10 And they burnt all their cities wherein they dwelt, and all their goodly castles, with fire. 11 And they took all the spoil, and all the prey, both of men and of beasts. 12 And they brought the captives, and the prey, and the spoil, unto Moses, and Eleazar the priest, and unto the congregation of the children of Israel, unto the camp at the plains of Moab, which are by Jordan near Jericho. 13 And Moses, and Eleazar the priest, and all the princes of the congregation, went forth to meet them without the camp. 14 And Moses was wroth with the officers of the host, with the captains over thousands, and captains over hundreds, which came from the battle.
15 And Moses said unto them, Have ye saved all the women alive?16 Behold, these caused the children of Israel, through the counsel of Balaam, to commit trespass against the Lord in the matter of Peor, and there was a plague among the congregation of the Lord. 17 Now therefore kill every male among the little ones, and kill every woman that hath known man by lying with him.
18 But all the women children, that have not known a man by lying with him, keep alive for yourselves.

Well my pastor has said there is a difference between killing and murder. Sometimes taking a life is justified.
If you were in WW2 times and in the same room as Adolf Hitler, would you take the so called high road and not pull the trigger if armed?
Me, I can happily say without a guilty mind that Hitler would have been shot.
Same with Vladimir Putin if the opportunity arises. Actually, seeing a bullet in his head would fill me with so much glee.

Someone once said to me that it was only wrong for man to kill, because man cannot restore the life that was taken. That same criteria doesn't apply to God.
...Besides, God kills everyone eventually.

But at least he allows most of us our three score year and ten these days. Is he getting slack or something?? Because God loves killing - in the Bible there are specifically numerated 2,821,364 deaths. Although it has been claimed the number could be as high as 25 million. We need more killings especially in Russia right now (and China maybe in a year or two)!! So while God's commandment to us is Thou Shalt Not Kill, He himself has done a lot of slaughtering by using plagues, floods, bears and other people to execute huge numbers of people in some very vengeful ways. Our pandemics, floods, fires and so on are just not getting rid of enough numbers these days! Go to: The Book of Chronicles (for the most killings)

He is the source of all life and he can choose to end it when he wills.

Oh I heartily agree! I just wish he would do more killing - especially in Russia. But he's very selective there. He seems to not mind the Ukrainians being exterminated - even though they're the most Christian country in Europe!
No wonder so many people are turning away from the church. Because prayers do nothing in the long run.

Remember Ninevah, as evil as it was, got a second chance. * Just a friendly reminder to not be like Jonah, alone on the mountain waiting for God's wrath to fall.

I pray to God everyday and I do pray for the swift death of Vladimir Putin.
Not going to happen, but if hypothetically the opportunity came about where I was in close proximity to Vladimir Putin with a pistol, I would shoot him.
I believe it would be a sin not to. He needs to be killed.

He needs to be killed. Then you don't serve the God of the Bible, Matte. My Bible teaches mercy and grace for sinners. My Bible says vengeance is the Lord's. 2 Peter 3:9 says it's not Gods will that any should perish...
