Four words ... You've been had mate. That's five words. "You've" is two words. It's a fruitless and arid non-debate. So we have a heat wave after a couple of wet summers. What does the poem My Country say about "droughts and flooding rains" and "her beauty and her terror"? It would seem that after a couple of wet years what's happened is the growth of a lot of vegetation which it turn provides fuel for some pretty bad bushfires. That's the Australian experience. Didn't Tasmania have some pretty godawful and catastrophic bushfires in the late 1960s? It was in 1967, according to Mr Google. Time for another one. Global warming and climate change are about trends rather than individual events. Yes, but these are abnormal events in Tasmania.

we've had a cyclone! No you haven't...where did it make landfall? Cyclones aren't always associated with the monsoon. The trough is only forming now and is still way off the northern coast. yeah we did, it was called Cyclone Mitchell check it out. www.bom.gov.au/climate/current/month/wa/summary.shtmlTropical Cyclones Tropical cyclone Mitchell formed out of a low well to the northwest of the Pilbara coast during the morning of the 29th. Mitchell moved in a generally south-southwest direction, remaining off the coast and weakening below cyclone strength during the morning of the 30th. Mitchell was a category 1 system and the first tropical cyclone for the Western Region in the 2012/13 season.

'This is the same mob of scientist from the US Marshall Institute of Science funded by companies such as Chevron, the big end of town companies'
Not unlike Al Gore the well known fund receipient of dirty carbon (read petro) dollars, $70mill in fact, from UAE following the sale of his stake in a small media business to Al- Jazera (spl?).

Lordy Stocko anything to discredit the reality with propaganda....part of the story cherry picked to denounce Al Gore, we know he is a businessman as well as politician, what he does is consciencoulsy make a effort to offset his carbon footprint.

"Lordy Stocko anything to discredit the reality with propaganda"
I don't have to. The fact remains Gore is banking $70 mill of petro $'s . Now you can say, he can say, what ever you like but UAE is based totally on the oil industry- the very same industry you both decry - day in day out.

I apologise to all who have actually reserched this issue. It is Quatar not UAE who own Al-Jazera. However even Bloomberg have picked up on the two faced approach to global warming by Gore.
“Many Americans are tired of borrowing huge amounts of money from China to buy huge amounts of oil from the Persian Gulf to make huge amounts of pollution that destroys the planet’s climate,” Gore said in September 2006 at the New York University School of Law. “Increasingly, Americans believe that we have to change every part of that pattern
Little did he know then he would be funded by those very huge amounts he refers to a few years later. But I guess he does need an updated private jet.

A case of shoot the messenger. Surely you jest Tonto!! Al Gore is the most despicable hypocrite on earth. Consciencoulsy (sic) make an effort to offset his carbon footprint. < seethe > From The Thinker: The environmental impact of Al Gore is growing faster than his waistline. The warmist con game has been very lucrative for the king of carbon credits. He and Tipper have just added to their collection of energy-gobbling homes with a nearly 9 million dollar 5 bedroom, 9 bath Italian-style villa in the celebrity-studded coastal enclave of Montecito, California, home to Oprah Winfry and many other celebrities. Al certainly likes living large. The home comes complete with 6 fireplaces. How are Al and Tip going to use them without generating carbon dioxide? Keeping the house functional while Al and family are on their private jet or in any of their other houses will eat up energy and resources. Just remember this ... just one of his mansions uses 20 times the average household energy consumption. His Nashville pad for example is 20 rooms 8 bathrooms. In one month he uses more than the average household uses in a year according to Nashville Electric Service. Paying some 3rd world country to plant more trees just doesn't cut it!!
