Jenny Macklin earns (and I use the term 'earn' loosely) almost $900 per day, which is well above the $35 per day people on Newstart get.
A lot of people on Newstart are not bludgers, in fact, they're on Newstart after being made redundant. If Jenny Macklin gets booted out at the next election, she will not have to go on Newstart, because she'll receive an entitlement for sitting on her fat, cushy arse doing nothing: FOR THE REST OF HER LIFE!
How can she claim to know what ordinary Aussies go through? How dare she think she works harder than the nurses, police, paramedics and so forth, who earn no where near what she does.
Should this woman be stripped of her entitlements and booted out at the next election?

Besides, you told us that you were going to vote for the candidate in your district for the party headed by the red-headed devil woman who's a professed atheist and who lives with a bloke she isn't married to, rather than for the party headed by the guy whose religion - according to you - is a vast paedophile conspiracy.
That means your vote is going to help return to office the government of which Jenny Macklin is a senior minister.

Politicians receive a salary equivalent to what they would get in private enterprise, of course if labor politicians were actually in private enterprise they would be sacked, sued or jailed for their appalling incompetence but in politics they can get away with anything.

Yes, I agree it is a travesty of justice that politicians who are so incompetent and can stuff up the economy and virtually everything else they touch, still be paid such an obscene amount. And Jenny Macklin would have to be about the most incompetent of all ministers in the current govt. She has achieved zilch in her portfolio of Aboriginal Affairs (among other things). But this is not unusual in the Gillard govt. And then there are the newly introduced asylum seeker policies that will send this country bankrupt.  |

I care for those unemployed through retrenchment, businesses going bust, poor health etc. We could and should be able to do more until they get back on their feet.
Then there are the chronically unemployed bludgers in our society ....

I am sure many people have to live on 35 dollars a day....They live, precariously, but not easily or indulgently and Macklin, God bless her little labour soul, did not suggest it would be an easy thing to do. Get over it and save your confected outrage for the Liberal arseholes who are pretending thay are the single parents' friends and saviours....

Lots of people have been made redundant due to the policies of this government, and Macklin cannot claim to know what that is like. The minute Macklin resigns or is booted out, she still gets paid. She will never have to line up at Centrelink, and will never have to live on $35 a day.
She should come out and apologise to all those redundant workers who have had to sell their homes, dip into their retirement savings, to help make ends meet, while living on Newstart.
Why can't she apologise? Why is that too hard for her to do?
Why can't she apologise for telling lies about the transcript? Her office says the recording was inaudible, but refuse to prove it by releasing it.

It is a skill I have, and am proud of it. I love explaining things to people who are confused, especially around election time. Being simple does not equal the need to be neutral.
But you are right. I will not under any circumstances vote for a Catholic like Tony Abbott. He isn't your stock standard "hatch, match and dispatch" Catholic that turns up to church three times in their life. He is devout, he even wanted to become an ordained priest for the great whore.
The worship of Satan is worse than Atheism, because at least an Atheist can be converted!

Jenny Macklin has been taken out of context by the media, it is very possible to live on $35 a day, in context with the dole those people who are renting also get rent assistance, and importantly and what Macklin has explained that people on newstart will also get greater assistance in getting a job.
Living in a high unemployment area my observation is that for the most are lhe unemployed are far from starving and destitute, while not rewarding lifestyle if your needs are simple you can survive quite well. I know some people in the area who have been on the dole for more than 20 years, they survive by earning black dollars and a prospect of a real job they look on with disdain.
Despite the negative input by Stellar, and forget the christian Matt who makes a opening post with the expression 'Bitch' to describe Macklin, such is the warped mindset of a conservative, not with standing the selfish nature of wreck at all cost attitude the conservatives have displayed in a hung parliament, the Australian economy is in positive growth and the envy of the world, for those in reality it is in fact in very good shape and in good hands with low unemployment, but the delusional spin put out by Abbott and his cronies has their followers convinced the economy is in a mess and the sky is falling in.
It's like Premier Campbell Newman stating the Qld economy was in a mess and still pumps that line in excuses to sack as many workers as possible to simply try and make the Labor government look bad when indeed he had lied about the economy and underestimated the financial status not by a few million but billions and the Qld economy left by Labor was truly in pretty good shape.
Its no wonder the conservatism appeals to the greedy rich and the shallow end of the pool, no one in their right mind would consider them as good political leaders for the country.
As with Newman all they have displayed is selfish dinosaurism.

This is just one of those news gotcha moments that the media love so much, if they wanted to do some real reporting they'd investigate where the millions in abbo housing funds went under Macklin, only conservatives care about the appalling waste of taxpayer funds though, labor and green voters laugh their arses off when they see public money go down the drain.
Newman is redistributing monies back to the private sector where you can get twice the value and twice the jobs, Bligh's labor just promoted inefficiency and waste on a grand scale, she should be arrested and made to pay it all back.
