Yeah, well if you are so weak & feeble that you need the crutch of religion to lean on, then be my guest.
One day you will die, then ... absolutely nothing. You will be extinguished/expired/finished.

That one puzzles me Occam. Where did he say that? To the best of my knowledge and belief Voltaire, while never a fan of organised religion - particularly of the Catholic Church (let's not forget that the Catholic Church, in monarchist pre-revolution France, was the second of the three Estates in the Estates-General which is what they called their parliament in those days: the monarchy and aristocracy being the First Estate, the Church being the Second, and the commoners [i.e. the bourgeoisie] being the Third Estate, so the Church was very much part of the Establishment which is why the Revolution had an anti-clerical dimension to it) was nevertheless a vague "pantheist" and once argued that "if God didn't exist we'd have to invent Him". Voltaire had the good fortune to die of natural causes before the Revolution otherwise I'm sure he'd have been guillotined under the Terror regime of Robespierre. Instead because he was safely dead the French revolution could elevate him to iconic status as a prophet of Reason over Superstition. But he was never an atheist. Nor was Robespierre. During the Terror, the most extreme phase of the Revolution when they tried to expunge even the language from any religious reference so they abolished the old Gregorian calendar which gives the (notional) year of Christ's birth as Year Dot, they began with Year One of the new Age of Reason and rededicated the Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris as a "Temple" to the "Goddess of Reason". An oxymoron if ever there was one.

I prefer the Hawk and Fox analogy myself ... Correct, that may be more apt. He doesn't seem to be that observant, does he?
