I recently bought the three seasons of this. Gillian Anderson and Jamie Dornan. It is set in Belfast. Dornan is Serial Killer, Gillian in the Cop set on catching him. It drags a little at times and Andersons pommy accent can be a little OTT but what a good series. I have two Eps to go and am holding off because I don't want it to end I think you can find it on Netflix too.

Is that the one where the serial killer is a grief counsellor whose murders are meticulously planned and sexual? It is excellent. And yes it is on Netflix.

The lead female plays Scully in the X Files. I didn't realise Gillian Anderson was British.

She isn't. Does the accent quite well though. I got used to it as the series went on.

She's not British? Now that's impressive. I'd always had the impression that while Australian, British etc actors "do" American accents quite convincingly, the same is not necessarily true in reverse. I winced at Meryl Streep's attempt at an Australian accent in "Evil Angels", and she failed to convince as Margaret Thatcher in whatever the name of that movie was. I've heard British actors like Cumberbatch do a convincing Australian accent and I put that down to the British being more familiar with Australians than Americans are. Americans tend to be prisoners of "Americanness" in my view. But if I'm wrong in the case of Gillian Anderson then I'm happy to stand corrected

I always thought she was British too...hmmm. I have seen a few episodes of the latest X-Files reboot. I don't know what's happened to her voice but she is sounding like an elderly lady! And her and Mulder bed hopping? Nooo! That is so wrong! As for Streep in 'Evil Angels', the line 'A dingo took my boy-boy!' resounds in my head

I finished watching it last night. Very good series. I keep seeing it advertised as a 'must watch' along with 'The Bridge' I shall investigate further as the winter months are upon us and longer hours spent in front of the TV draw near... Once 'The Handmaid's Tale, S2' concludes!
