Slarti....ask one of our old members Rob Tobin....he goes to various lectures/gatherings around Australia. Have a look at all the groups on facebook. They are most certainly a church and a cult...even have a symbol representing them.

I belong to neither a church or a cult. I do not attend meetings with anyone. I don't know anyone who does.

not back peddling at all Phil. The God of the bible is the only God for me....how is that back peddling? If people want to worship the jolly green giant....so be it. I will never tell people how they should live or who they should worship. It is none of my business. The God of the bible it the one true God for me and billions of others. So what!!

I know it must be very disappointing to think that you and I and everybody else are not special. That we are the end result of billions of years of random events. That we are born, live for a while and then die. That there is no creator, no guiding intelligence ruling the cosmos. But that is the most likely truth. Sorry. "That we are born, live for a while and then die." But if we have had children then our genes survive, so maybe not a total waste of time, well as long as the genes are good ones.

I walked to my car past the garden this morning and a small beetle scurried out of my path into the garden shrubbery. If it hadn't moved I would have stepped on it and that would have been the end of the beetle. Not out of malice! I only noticed the beetle because of its sudden movement to get away from my size 12 shoes (that's Australian shoe sizes, Stud!). Clearly, that creature wanted to live and was prepared and eager to do what it could to avoid being crushed. Charles Darwin, in his Origin of Species, chronicles how in the insect world a predator will rip its prey to shreds while the prey struggles piteously for its life. The thing is the prey doesn't passively accept its fate. It resists in an attempt to go on living.
It isn't just humans who think life is good and want it to last. Even a virus or a bacillus will mutate as a defence mechanism against our attempts to eradicate it.

She didn't even know that Jesus was a Jew. How could she have heard of Jesus in any meaningful way and not known that he must have been Jewish?
