Rhodopsin is a pigment in the retina essential for night vision and vitamin A deficiencies can reduce it resulting in night blindness. Carrots may help only if you are deficient in vitamin A. Incidentally, carrots are one of the few veg that are better for you cooked than raw. Their cell structure is high in cellulose which we can't break down unless it is cooked first .
Back to juice...I find straight carrot too sweet. I juice two carrots with two celery sticks (including leaves-no, they are not toxic) and a single clove of garlic. A good kick start to the day

I hate fruit.... fruit is acidic and that is why I love carrot juice... because it is sweet without being acidic.
I drink it maybe twice a week... and I drink it because I like it and no other consideration comes into it...
and egg yolk is the best for your eyes later studies have confirmed.
Kurt has celery in his but I like my carrot juice pure and unadulterated.

Tomato juice is way nicer than carrot juice.
Provided, of course, that the tomatoes the juice comes from are New Zealand tomatoes and not those watery, tasteless Aussie tomatoes.

How the flip can you grow tomatoes in a frozen shithole of a place like NZ?, the only thing that I have seen them produce with perfection is white western taliban supporting wankers that think they are maori and want to introduce sharia law.

I disagree with this.. My mother brought us up on carrot juice... and I think its the best... but one year....way, way back in the very early 80s, I remember having skim milk and later a glass of tomato juice (canned) and then being violently ill, vomiting, the works... I never had tomato juice again,... but up until then, I used to drink it. I never knew why I vomited... I always suspected the Weight Watchers skim milk powder was off... there was a heat wave on too... either way, skim milk powder and tomato juice were permanently left off the menu!

I do not drink juice, I just eat fruit.
Fruit is a gift from God, full of sweetness.
I have to agree with kiwithrottlejockey, Australian fruit is tasteless. I much prefer the imported stuff.
Australian farmers pick the fruit way before it has developed enough. They pick the tomatos while they're still hard and green, knowing they'll be able to flog them off once they get to the supermarket because they'll be red.
But they're still tasteless because they were never able to develop a taste.

Yep, couldn't agree more...
carrots aren't green and acidic tho,.... they are the perfect sweet quencher if you're feeling like a natural sugar fix!

The original carrots were white and yellow...the orange colour was bred into them (so they didn't look like parsnips, I suppose?) I recently bought a bag of purple carrots...as dark as beetroot..very weird, but the best carrot flavour I ever remember! Not seen them since
