The authors of the bible (can someone actually name them so their accounts can be confirmed...thought not), especially those of Genesis, had a narrow view of the world. In the story of the flood they imagined that it was possible to get two of each of the species of world’s animals in the ark: Here is a glimpse of what they would’ve faced: There are some 260 known living species of monkeys This is not counting the apes (yes they are separate species) of which there are more than 20 species. There are some 12,000 species of ants. There are 20,000 species of bees 10,000 species of birds 310 species of doves (most believe there were only two doves) There are 8 different genera of rabbits with many species within each genus, and they reproduce like you know what What (or who) did the Lions, Tigers and other carnivores eat? Multiply all these by 2 The list of animals and their species could be endless. It was not within the grasp of the authors of genesis to imagine how many species of animals existed. It is absurd to believe that they actually saved every species from every continent in a large boat. And how many people were on earth at the time? And only one had a boat? This story does not hold water. <stolen from facebook>

<sigh> where does one start with people like you slarti? You and your fellow trolls are as bad in your own way as the religious fundamentalists who are convinced that the bible is literally true.
I don’t think you're interested in debate or discussion. Something else is going on. Something darker and more destructive.

I've better things to do than try to convince the unwilling.
Shut up and enjoy the holiday, slarti.
"And if a town refuses to welcome you, shake its dust from your feet as you leave to show that you have abandoned those people to their fate." Luke 9:5

Convincing the unwilling.
Now there's an interesting phrase for someone to use who is unwilling to acknowledge that the existence of any God, and there are many to choose from, is nothing but something that was created by the fear of man.
I was fed the balony of the Bible as a child, but I could see through the obvious lies as an early teenager.
I am just interested to see why others still believe in something that is so obviously fake.

No. You aren't interested in anything of the sort. With all these deities, you are too quick to point out all of the differences, that you fail to consider what they have in common: They are all theists.
The real question should be, why do you reject them all outright? Have you considered the claims of each one? How much effort have you really put into your decision to become an atheist? 'Cause I think you are just being intellectually lazy. So much easier to deny the existence of something than to actively seek your own answers, eh?
Let's just settle the God question, before we delve into your postage stamp-sized knowledge about Biblical Doctrine. That's a lot of hubris to believe you've figured out the extent of the universe by your adolescence, but likely not that uncommon.

Trolls religious bigotry, can xenophobia be far off? The Donald Trump of the board. Go and sing a doxology or similar piece of “worshipping thin air” waste of time. Do you know the old 100th tune? Well use that to sing the following.... Praise God, from whom all blessings flow; Praise Him, all creatures here below; Praise Him above, ye heavenly host; Praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. Amen. The Amen on the end is sung with a simple two-chord harmonic cadence (you can improvise and make one up if you like). That should keep your Roman Catholic theist mind amused for a while.

And Troll One calls himself a bloody "lefty". He's not a socialist's bootlace. You want a doxology? I'll give you a real doxology:
Praise boss when morning work bells chime! Praise him for bits of overtime! Praise him, whose bloody wars we fight, Praise him, fat leech and parasite!
You're clueless as well as a fraud.

The word god is missing from that list. The "Father"; "Son" or "Holy ghost" ... Just imagine those are in the list too. It is not an exhaustive list either. I don't see how your 'list' discredits the existence of any actual deity... at all. You must have a defensible reason for your Atheism, for it to be thought 'rational'. I haven't seen any yet.

You must have a defensible reason for your Atheism, for it to be thought 'rational'. Here we go again....yet another theist (who listens to the god delusion inside their head) who feels the need to stick a label on those who prefer to NOT blindly believe unproven bullshit. What is it about religionists that they are so insecure in this way? Why this label of athiest? Does it make them feel more adequate, or something?

Confucius say: he who delighteth in putting insulting and abusive labels (labelth?) on others should refrain from whinging (occam "whinging" or "whingeing" is down under slang for "whining") when labels are affixed to him.
You know what they say about ducks: if it quacks like a duck and waddles like a duck it probably is a duck. And KTJ you sure quack like an atheist and boy do you ever waddle like an atheist! So STFU and quit whingeing ya whiny atheist!

Ah, the dutchie papist is another who cannot accept that some people simply don't believe unproven god delusions, so feels the need to drag out that athiest label.

Get your spelling right for a start ya atheist quacker. Your main purpose in coming onto this board is to label people with your hopelessly ignorant and ill-informed generalisations. And yet you whinge like a pathetic little sook at being labelled. You quack like an atheist and you waddle like an atheist. Sure sounds like you're an atheist! I'd call it truth in labelling

Slarti you've no reason to take my "duck" analogy to KTJ personally. Unlike KTJ you don't deny your atheism. Far from indulging in KTJs double standards whereby he labels everybody he disagrees with and then quacks worse than Donald Duck when he himself is labelled, you don't try to fudge your atheism. In fact you've labelled yourself by openly proclaiming it. My profound disagreement with you is about other issues - related but separate.

A rational person would conclude that it is impossible for all those gods to be "real". Each believer declares their god to be the "real" god. Given that, it is highly likely that none of them are "real". That is the rational conclusion. A rational person would also know that listing a multitude of deities can't really dismiss any of them as being 'real', either. ...And you still haven't provided a defensible reason for Atheism.
