No hubris intended. As far as moral clarity is concerned I readily own up to looking through a glass darkly. But as I keep saying, you can take the agnostic/atheist out of the Christian but you can't take the Christian out of the agnostic/atheist. But here's a very interesting case in Canada no less so perhaps Occam has heard of her. Here we have a church that is probably to the left of the Uniting Church in Australia. It began admitting women to the ministry 80 years ago and ordains gays & lesbians. Has LGTBI congregations so it would seem. Not sure about its position on trans or other non-binaries but I'll bet it's ahead of the game there. When it comes to envelope-pushing, this church is the progressives' bees' knees. But have they reached the end of the road where "more progressive than thou" is concerned? There's a lady pastor who has come out as an atheist and leads an atheist congregation. The result is turmoil in the church. They do after all pay her stipend. Can you be an atheist and a Christian too? The lady reckons you can. Her congregation agrees with her. I know that Yorick doesn't agree because he's said as much. And when I claim, and I believe this to be so, that while you can take the atheist out of the Christian, you can't take the Christian out of the atheist, I'm sure I'll be accused of sneering. But I think this lady would agree with me.
