Awe is a human trait, Yorick. It's common to atheists and agnostics as well as to those who seek a more religious dimension to the cosmos. It's wonderful to look at something like that and simply react with "wow!" The rest is cultural. BTW thanks for putting up the video. It's hit and miss for me with this tablet. Sometimes I can hotlink a video and sometimes I can't. If it's a YouTube URL then there's no problem.

It's a fair point to make if you want to frame it in rationalist terms. Which is what atheism is, isn't it. Not sun worship, I hasten to add!, but rationalism. Nothing wrong with being an atheist anymore than there's anything wrong with valuing the spiritual and the metaphysical.
