While I was part of the LDS Church, we were not only treated to religious music, but we were also treated with secular music.
While the LDS church might be frowned upon by lots of people, the The Mormon Tabernacle Choir and Orchestra are world renowned, requested internationally at events.
This is a non-religious piece, and what upsets me is I cannot fully appreciate it these days, as I cannot hear it properly. I do however know the words because it was a popular song throughout the church and on many CDs.
Have a listen, what do you think of it?

Its not a song The New World Symphony is a masterpiece. This rendition by a vocal orchestra in the Japanese POW camps means the world to me because I had the great honour and pleasure of meeting and speaking with Vivian Bullwinkel. This moves me deeply. This inspires me. Oh technical. It is still a song.

Are you sure you didn't go to the LSD church? Most of your rants would indicate so.
