Easy to miss, in it's typical absence.

Are we still cluttering the board with these bullshit non-debates about the bible as history? There's something called "Life" out there, guys. Its message to you is: "Come & get me!"

Not even a non-debate. Just more obstinate atheo-coverts monologuing. So you believe the bible history is accurate then? PS - When you or someone else responds, it is not a monologue. PPS - What is an " atheo-covert"? I know what atheo and covert mean, but putting the two together does not make a whole lot of sense (bit like the bible really).

A monologue is a long speech made by one person that prevents anyone else from talking. I use the term loosely, but you and I both know that you or EG aren't interested in anything the other side has to contribute.
Thus aptly named, it's a monologue.
Atheo-convert, just a typo made by my fast-typing fingers.

And thank you for continuing contributions to an alleged monologue.

More than alleged---seeing as this particular off-topic conversation doesn't contribute, nor elude to, the content which Pim was referring.

About time you converted, not just your fingers. There is hope for you. If that's how you interpreted that, it's no mystery that you'd have difficulty accurately interpreting Biblical texts. Anyway, I'm not playing this game. Look me up when you are ready to have a serious adult conversation.

Don't believe this is the consensus among most Christians, EG. In a Gallup poll 30 years ago only 46% agreed with the statement that: God created human beings within the last 10,000 years or so.

That is not something to be proud of. Nearly half the Christians think that the world is less than 10,000 years old? That is a disgrace!

I agree, especially when it doesn't actually say that in the Bible. Personally I believe both creationists, and the evolutionists are right--- from different perspectives. The Universe is 4.5 billion years old; from where we are now.
In an explosion time slows down, as the matter expands; at the center of the Big Bang, only 7 days have passed. This theory can be supported mathematically.

Mathematically, 46% hardly represents most; by anyone's calculations. Slarti saw his opportunity to express a bigoted slur, and he went for it.

Mathematically, 46% hardly represents most. Almost half is a large percentage, I take it that most of those 46% are Christians? EG, don't be disingenuous. Put any other minority in place of the word 'christian' there, and they'd be accused of prejudice.

Yeah I've just realized that. I can't seem to dig up any percentage that applies to Christians alone.
For now, I'll give slarti the benefit of the doubt; he was merely speaking outside of his knowledge. But for the record, it's fallacious to speak of most Christians, particularly when it's beyond one's scope. Let's be civil and not make sweeping statements, about creeds, faiths or beliefs.
*I will also point out that educated and intelligent, aren't necessarily synonyms. Education is about what you know; intelligence is about how you think. There is a difference.

If you don't think that those figures are an indictment of the average American Christian's intelligence and education, there's something wrong with you.
PS. How can I start a "flamewar" when you came up with the numbers and I haven't attacked you at all?

May I similarly suggest that he remove his 'most Christians are uneducated', comment?

PS. How can I start a "flamewar" when you came up with the numbers and I haven't attacked you at all? You are attacking me indirectly; you know full well that I am a Christian! -You didn't say YE Creationists, you said: Christians. If you placed any other minority in place of Christian in that sentence, it'd be seen as offensive, and discriminatory. I'm only asking you to choose your words carefully.
