I pray this young lady makes it. To be shot in the head by the taliban because you want an education.... Hopefully the Pakistani authorities will be able to catch the pigs involved in this....doubtful though. www.theaustralian.com.au/news/world/teenage-activist-malala-yousafzai-still-on-ventilator/story-e6frg6so-1226495030644A PAKISTANI schoolgirl shot in the head by the Taliban remains on a ventilator in hospital, as people continue to pray for her recovery, the military says. The shooting of 14-year-old Malala Yousafzai, who campaigned for the right to an education, has been denounced worldwide and by the Pakistani authorities, who have offered a reward of more than $US100,000 ($97,928) for the capture of her attackers. “(The) health condition of Malala continues to remain satisfactory. Her vitals are okay and she is still on ventilator,” the military said today. “A board of doctors is continuously monitoring her condition.” Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf visited Malala on Friday, paying tribute to her and two friends who were also wounded when a gunman boarded their school bus on Tuesday and opened fire. “It was not a crime against an individual, but a crime against humanity and an attack on our national and social values,” he told reporters, pledging renewed vigour in Pakistan's struggle with Islamist militancy. Military spokesman Major General Asim Saleem Bajwa said yesterday the next 36 to 48 hours would be critical for Malala. Schools in Afghanistan opened today with special prayers for Malala's quick recovery, in a move officials said was to show solidarity with her. The attack has sickened Pakistan, where Malala won international prominence with a blog for the BBC that highlighted atrocities under the Taliban who terrorised the Swat valley from 2007 until a 2009 army offensive. Activists say the shooting should be a wake-up call to whose who advocate appeasement with the Taliban, but analysts suspect there will be no seismic shift in a country that has sponsored radical Islam for decades. Well I'm glad you posted that article Jody! You do understand that phucky Phil might accuse you of being a stupid, hate-filled, vile, retarded, xenophobic Islamophic moron Some lefties just can't handle others looking at these situations in a pragmatic and realistic manner. You want to know what hate and misogny is Phil? Take a look at that girl and tell me that Islam is a wonderful inclusive religion where females are treated with respect. I think that if we are to bring muslims to our country they should be people like Malala, not those vile disgusting subhuman males that seem to make it to our shores with ease.

As I well know, you never condemn Islam on this board. But you do rubbish Christians and Christianity, Jews etc ... but never muslims and Islam.
That's why you have no credibility.

We should look to Malala as a source of inspiration, someone worth adoring for the humble non-violent fight she had with the savage Taliban.
I will pray for her.

And what Earl Gray said is totally correct. The Taliban is a particularily vile sect within a stupid religion.

No one likes Muslims period.
No one likes Australia pandering to them either. That's the worse crime, inviting people here and not encouraging them to shed their false beliefs.

Malala is now stable in hospital in the UK and hopefully she will make a good recovery. One incident of concern however is that some people have tried to gain access to the hospital posing as her "relatives." I hope that British Police have viewed the cctv in case anything untoward happens. But well wishes from people around the world continue to pour into the hospital - as well as donations towards her care. Police are patrolling the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham after several Middle Eastern individuals have turned up at the hospital posing as Malala's "relatives." This has raised fears about the girl's security amid pledges by the Taliban to finish the job. And the Taliban certainly has many sympathisers amongst those genuine refugees who have made their way into Britain from Pakistan.

Birmingham?, may as well have sent her to the Paki tribal lands ... less jihadis there than there is in Birmingham.
