Some people---Just--don't--learn. He's taking a 24 hour vacation.
I'll keep doing this, until he learns it's not appropriate to call other people mentally ill just because they don't agree with him.

Jeeeezus H Faaaaarking Christ, there are some thin-skinned people around here. Haven't you ever heard of “sticks & stones may break my bones, but names will never hurt me”??

Don't see anything in there that deserves a ban.

I have to be honest and admit to agreeing with KTJ and Slarti......Dib is a mod though and deciding to place a short term banning on someone is his choice.

double standards the rules only apply to me not to him False Dichotomy. True it takes 2 to fight, but it only requires one aggressor. If I am ever the aggressor, go ahead and call me out on it. I'll happily take a few days off to preserve the integrity of this board.. You started with the name calling LOOOOOONG before I retaliated. I even told you to stop, but you kept going. So you were being intentionally unethical, and belligerent. You knew what you were doing was wrong, and kept doing it. --And that's why you got what you deserved. Buzz, I am going to explain this simply as I can, so there is absolutely no room for confusion: -It's fine to disagree, it's fine to argue and comment on other people's arguments, even to mention that they are stupid arguments.. It's not cool to make a statement about the arguer that you are unable to substantiate by evidence. It's also not cool to make statements about a person's emotional/ mental state, if it's not information they've volunteered. (Even then, it's unscrupulous to comment on it, as it relates absolutely nothing to the argument. Mentally ill people are still capable of being right, despite whatever stereotype you want to attach to it.) It's also not cool to make observations about other people's emotional/physical state if you don't have the qualifications to make those sort of statements. *(And before you attempt it again: it's also not cool to make up a pretend doctor to make those claims on your behalf)*

you do it Dib - and there is a classic example - one of so many - I do not have a "pretend doctor" He is real. I could give you his name - but I do not want to embarrass you - to stop you making a complete fool of yourself internationally. Here is a classic example: de·lu·sion /diˈlo͞oZHən/ Noun A false belief strongly held in spite of invalidating evidence, especially as a symptom of mental illness. It's great that you can admit to that, Buzz. Now maybe you can get the help that you require. It's also not cool to make statements about a person's emotional/ mental state, if it's not information they've volunteered. (Even then, it's unscrupulous to comment on it, as it relates absolutely nothing to the argument. Mentally ill people are still capable of being right, despite whatever stereotype you want to attach to it.)

You've condemned yourself by showing that message. --I was responding to an attack (albeit, feeble.) YOU made on me.
But one of the glaringly obvious distinctions between your actions and mine, is this:I told you to stop, and you didn't. The scales are still tilting on your guilt, despite your claims of "double standard". --I treated you fairly.
If you take away anything from this conversation, take this: Trivializing mental illness, or any other physical condition, is not something I am about to tolerate any further.
There's the line. Don't step over it.
There. You've been aptly warned. Anything you do from here, on your own head be it.

double standards - what about all the foil hat crap - I don't wear one and you know it Hearsay--That's what he's based his research on. Entirely. And he's compiled these condensed Google searches into a book, that he's self-published. Now he compares himself to the likes of more reputable scholars, imagining he's a contender. It's Sad, really. <-Buzz I won't respond to this, for the same reason I won't respond to a simpleton who dances on the street for pocket change. He is to be pitied, not indulged.

that is not my picture - that is not me and I don't wear a foil hat nor do I advocate such a thing.
What you imply is at I am mentally ill - when other than a bad case of PTSD I am not.
But you have 2 sets of rules - one for me and another one altogether for yourself.

With apologies to Jody, I want to make this last comment for clarity (Even though I knowingly announced my closure on this subject) : Comments on behavior are not the same as a personal attack. (That is where Buzz is getting confused.)
Telling someone "You are acting like a duck" is not the same thing as saying "You are a duck".
(Feel free to replace *duck* with any noun or expletive you like. But I'm certain you catch my meaning.)
Now having made my explanation, I reaffirm my closure on the subject. Enough of this.
