D'ye know the hymn Praise God from whom all Blessings Flow ? It's one of those old Protestant hymns that's easy to sing and quite tuneful. I always say the old hymns are the best ones. This hymn is called a "doxology" because it's a short hymn of praise. Here it is, in all its brevity: Praise God, from Whom all blessings flow; Praise Him, all creatures here below; Praise Him above, ye heavenly host; Praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. Amen! But here's the "Worker's Doxology". Apparently it used to be sung by members of the "Wobblies" or "International Workers of the World", or IWW. Dubbed by their opponents as "I Won't Work" Fat, before I start I have to warn you that the Wobblies in days of yore 100 years ago had a generic name for your archetypical capitalist with his top hat, his waistcoat and his cigar. It's the capitalist icon you see on Monopoly games. His name is "Fat". Don't take it personally! Praise Fat when morning bells do chime Praise him for chunks of overtime Praise him whose bloody wars we fight Praise him, fat leech and parasite! Aw Hell! The Wobblies used to sing it during the anti-conscription rallies in Sydney and Melbourne during WW1. There were Alan Jones types around back then too - mostly Protestant ministers of religion who fulminated against these "disloyal Fenians" from their pulpits. But the greatest Alan Jones type back then was Billy Hughes PM who would happily have shot the lot of them!

Helium is a creation of God.

If God made everything, he is also a murderer. No. Murder is the taking of human life BY ANOTHER HUMAN. (...Is killing a fly also murder, slarti? Do you eat? I guess you're a murderer too, then.)

God made man (supposedly including that Rib moment that the Vicar of Dibley keeps ignoring), therefore God is responsible for what man does. And who gives us earthquakes, storms, floods etc? A murderer. Well, according to those who believe God made everything, including Helium.

God gave man the ability to choose good or evil. Was that a mistake in your opinion, slarti? (Just trying to figure out exactly where you expect the consequence of man's choices, were God's fault?) (Murder is still the taking of a human life, by another human) Semantics aside--God inevitably kills everyone, at least physically. You will die someday, best you know that, now. You are essentially playing a game, and telling the person who created the rules, that he isn't playing it correctly. Oh REEEEEAAALLLLYYY.... Do tell..... P.S. I'm not really ignoring the 'rib moment', slarti. --I just haven't answered it, because you already have, in your own mind, prior to it's asking. So I've considered my response, redundant. Enjoy debating both sides of that question, as no doubt, you've been doing it for quite some time.

Weak cop-out. All I have asked is for you to explain how women evolved from Man's rib.

The word 'evolved' assumes a naturalistic process. --Who decided it had to be naturalistic?

boring questions, boring answers, boring topic Quite agree. The "Religion Bored" is dead. Perhaps it ought to be made a sub board of its own where it is only visible to the die hards who want to see it? Obviously it hasn't bored you enough to stifle your comments.

Now you are acting as if you are owed an answer. There is nothing here to obligate me to entertain a loaded question. How is the question loaded when it asks to explain something in YOUR Bible? A loaded question is when a supposition precedes the query. For example, a question like: " Have you told your friends you are gay, yet?" Presumes the person's sexual preference prior to asking the full question. You've already decided that there is no such thing as the supernatural, thus you will only accept naturalistic explanations for your question. And I am not obligated to answer your question because there is a categorical error implied in your supposition. (ie: why ought I be limited to naturalistic explanations?)

You can't explain how woman evolved from man's rib. Good, neither can I because it is ludicrous.

Of course I can't. Women didn't evolve from man's rib.--Nobody believes that. That's why it's a strawman argument.
(Where did you get the notion that she did?)

Genesis 2:22And the rib, which the LORD God had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man.King James Bible "Authorized Version", Pure Cambridge Edition Are you going to blame bad translation on this one too? Or did one of your strawmen write the Bible?

No. I'm just not sure what the difficulty is with this, slarti.
The passage mentions nothing about 'evolving'.

It says that woman is made from man's rib. Yes it does. So, what is the purpose of that scripture? Is it to subjugate women? It could be interpreted that way. It could also be interpreted to signify equality. Since an attack upon woman, would be an attack upon one's self. Maybe it's simply telling the way things happened. The book of Genesis wasn't written until the time of Moses, after all.
