Labour looking towards labour values of equity and social responsibility through the tax system. Superannuation should not be a tax haven for the very rich and fifteen percent is certainly much better than 30% or 47%....The Tele and Murdoch himself will rant against this but such rants are al to do with demonising Labour rather than helping the welfare of the nation or the security of future taxpayers who will not be in the hugely wealthy minority who always scream the loudest. www.smh.com.au/opinion/political-news/super-changes-to-hit-rich-retirees-20130405-2haim.html

I do not know. I do not even see what this has to do with the issue. I know I will not be paying any under these changes because my income from super is unlikely to get above 100,000 in a year, which is a lot. The changes will not be retrospective either... The tax will only be 15% and will affect about 16,000 people. No doubt you are priming yourself for another psychotic rant....

So, you consider this to be a "psychotic rant"? ... Tell me, how much tax are Juliar and Swan going to pay on their super?? A simple, innocent little question, which you could not answer because you do not want to answer it.

I cannot answer it because I do not know you fool. I do not understand why you even consider it relevant unless you are on some sort of scurrilous envy kick. Your idea of "innocent" in the context you used it is ridiculous as well.

re#6
Except the small pensioner (Ie with super assets less than $150,000) WILL be impacted by some of these changes announced today.

Tell me, how much tax are Juliar and Swan going to pay on their super?? Top 1% or people with 2,000,000 in super (if I heard right this morning) will be affected... trouble is, it'll be the top 1% this year, top 5% next year.... top 10% the year after. ... get the picture? And the answer to your question... nothing.

No Cascurried on conservative ... the only picture to see is that the conservative ideology of give more to the rich and the wealthy will trickle down to all....you only have to look at Rhinehart to see she even resents trickling down wealth to her kids to see what a false dichotomy that notion is.
Even Australia doesn't reign in the mega rich to spread the wealth Australia will become like the US where the top 1% owns the wealth...the middle class are poor as well as the lower classes. The American people have been so brow beaten by the wealthy to stand up and fight for equality is equal to socialism and how they are taught to loathe that word ..'Socialisim'...even the Labor Right are in fear of that word...yet look where they are with poverty so widespread that for any Australian to visit there astounds them at how such a rich nation have so many destitute....as a Australian citizen you should be alarmed at what direction the conservative coalition path that will erode the nations equality and character of fair go for all.
Rather than just blithely sit back with any deep thought Labor bad pour negativity on them and coalition good....for the rich so must be good....Australians need a cracker underneath them as a wake up call against conservative ideology as outlined above..!!

And didn't Juliar say that she would "never" tax over 60s super? When Juliar says "never" you just know that that she's a devious bitch. Just like "there will be no carbon tax under a govt I lead." You can't trust her. Today the top 1%, tomorrow the next 5 or 10% as Cas has said. After all she does have to shell out $7 billion per annum in interest on her loans. And she's gonna get it off the taxpayers and "our" super just wait and see.

Fingers in the ear ignoring the facts, typically the RW muppets have latched on to a myth and prefer to run with that....how droll... no doubt if the rich were given more concessions they would stand back and applaud...something is wrong with these people...

Exactly spin. This new reform is to apply to al those on defined benefit super and to politicians as well. Those crapping on here are just stupid, simply nasty and totally uninformed which is spot on for the useless right, especially on this board.
