I guess the rellies in other countries sending money home have a lot less to send.
I know, I have a plan... let's send them some refugees to plow the countryside in the heat.

Greece had a massive public service and billions of unemployed reffos, a few people worked and the rest were on welfare, I'd say the place was another great lefty success story for sure.

Greece had a massive public service and billions of unemployed reffos, a few people worked and the rest were on welfare, I'd say the place was another great lefty success story for sure. Buzz if you want to show off your knowledge of German then get it right: it's "kaputt", not "kaput". Garfield, as usual you show yourself to be utterly clueless and to have zero historical context. You've probably never heard of the post WW2 Greek civil war and how that figured in Balkan power politics and the estrangement that developed between Tito and Stalin. And yes I know that was Yugoslavia but Greece was part of the broader Balkan picture in the WW2 struggle against fascism. In fact you probably have no idea of how close Greece came to becoming just another Iron Curtain country and how the current political and economic set-up in Greece was the work of the British and the Americans. Read up on Churchill's role during these years and also how the civil war was so savage it left Greece practically a medieval peasant society with not much economic activity apart from making fetta cheese, olive oil, and tourism. It's why so many Greeks came to places like Australia in the 1960s. In fact as the rest of Europe recovered after WW2 the richer and more economically developed countries of northern Europe kept Greece in this sort of economic model because it suited them to have an undeveloped practically 3rd world economy down in the Greek islands where you could have cheap holidays in the sun. A bit like the way Australians treat places like Bali and Thailand. Or Fiji. What's more it was the Germans who were very keen on Greece joining the euro which would be like bringing PNG ino the Australian dollar. To have the Eurozone include places like Greece, Portugal and Ireland would depress the value of the currency which would be sky high if it only included countries like Germany and Benelux. That suited the Germans because a lower euro would then make German exports cheaper. So don't blame the Greeks for the crisis in the euro. Your "left/right" crapola just goes to show how utterly pig ignorant you are. You're not interested, though, are you. You really are just one of these low alititude-flying backward twits who wants to mask their ignorance with a lot of bigotry, bullshit and bollocks.

If Greece goes down the shitter completely (an economic term) let's hope someone makes it out of the country with the recipe for pita gyro (or doner kebab, depending on the university from which you graduated). Where would a heavy evening on the tiles be if you couldn't make it home at night's end with half a kebab in your pocket?

how about some empathy for the victims of this man made disaster? rising incidence of children fainting at school due to low calorie intake. Diabetics cannot afford their insulin, suicides and anti-depressant usage is off-the-chart, tuberculosis and HIV rates are soaring, and desperate pensioners in Athens have been reduced to dumpster diving outside grocery stores for a few scraps of food to feed themselves and their families. There has been an increase in the number of newborn babies dumped outside clinics and offloaded on charities ….”Families are breaking up, instances are mounting of mothers and fathers no longer being able to bring up their own kids,” that is here in Australia too... send some atheists in to offer charitable gifts.

I look forward to travelling to Greece one day. There are so many monuments I want to see. my MIL went there and a taxi driver tried to steal from her.... she wasn't impressed but I think going there to see what's left would be good... English actress Joanna Lumley (sp?) went there and toured around... you can see it on youtube.

Greeks will survie....closer to home Western Australia is going to have massive debt with Barnett's borrowings to pay for his election promises.
AAA credit rating dropped to AA is the forecast ...perthaps just a A rating, if the Iron Ore market falls.
And if the credit rating falls for WA..no GST revenue from NSW after the games Barnett played with the mining tax....fuck you pricks, can go sink like Greece..

Unfortunately all the public servants, welfare dregs and asylum seekers bled Greece dry, and the little left over was wasted on idiotic climate change crap, thats gillards plan for Australia too, luckily that fuckhead will be gone soon though.

Hey Buzz, don't you feel somwhat hypocritical by laughing at Greek people starving and dying after earlier in this thread repeatedly accusing people of being bad because they weren't showing (in your eyes) an appropriate amount of empathy.
It's very strange behaviour Buzz and it's why I am constantly imploring you to go get yourself checked out by a head shrinker.

Oh yeah that was about twenty five million dollars last time I looked, money julia probably took from single parents or other Australian down and outs to give to them, for reasons best known to themselves the labor greens party thinks asylum seeker con artists shit on on the local needy in terms of priority.
