The bible must be read in the historical context of the time.

No doubt we will hear cries of... "the book is way better than the film!" It is better because when you read it, the Spirit helps interpret it for you. The Bible is the Living Word.

The program has begun to be aired in America to a 30 million + audience and is expected to reach 1 billion people within 5 years...not bad at all.

Was it Otto Preminger who said something like "give me a page of the bible and I'll give you a movie"?

No it was give me a page of the bible and I will have toilet paper. Says an atheist who asserts the Bible has no value, but would maintain that he followed and benefits from EVERY one of it's moral precepts.

The only atheists I've ever encountered who dismiss the bible as toilet paper are on NTB. In the course of my everyday life my experience of atheists has been of people from all walks of life who, while disbelieving, nevertheless treat with respect the belief systems of people who adhere to a religion.

I think people have trouble with Christians and other followers of religion is that they expect them to behave perfectly and of course, no one can do that.
Atheism is a religion to Atheists.
I actually laugh at them... it is like the gay issue.... who cares if you're gay and who cares if you're an atheist... no seriously.... who gives a shit?
I think the believers here love winding up dills like Buzz, KTJ and Garffy.... but the best one to wind up is Buzz..... His meltdowns are the stuff of legend.
We've got to write something for the ABC... an half hour sitcom would be hilarious..... Like Adrian Mole but 100 times funnier.
