Only 1 out of 3 women plan to vote Labor according to new Galaxy poll. Juliar can't fool women with her misoynist claims about Abbott. We see right through the lying, scheming bitch. What a disgrace she's turned out for the first female PM. Abbott has already won over ladies of the west TAYLOR AUERBACH The Sunday Telegraph February 17, 2013 12:00AM Sam Soravia 39 and Anita Rowles 26 like the fact Mr Abbott has an all-female family and a woman chief of staff. Picture: Cameron Richardson Source: The Sunday Telegraph HIS mentor John Howard famously won the 1996 federal election on the back of "Howard's battlers". Now Tony Abbott is enjoying the support of another powerhouse group - Abbott's women. Most women polled in an informal street survey by The Sunday Telegraph in the Labor seats of Reid and McMahon, in Sydney's west, have already made their minds up for the September 14 election - Tony Abbott is the man for the job, and he's no misogynist, whatever Prime Minister Julia Gillard might say. For Guildford friends Anita Rowles, 26, and Sam Soravia, 39, the choice is easy - anyone but Ms Gillard. The pair agrees that Tony Abbott is prone to the odd faux pas, but say the strong women around him are proof he's no misogynist. "He lives in a house full of girls; his chief of staff is a woman" said Ms Rowles, a psychologist. "I remember the comment he made about women and ironing boards but he doesn't deserve to be judged on that." For Ms Soravia, a sales consultant , the election can't come soon enough. "(Ms Gillard) is always lying," Ms Soravia said. Hospital administrator Danielle Hale, enjoying a picnic in Blaxland on Thursday with her friends Jodie Van Loo, a finance manager, and Kirsten Bancic, a stay-at home-mum, said: "He isn't a misogynist, he's got four daughters doesn't he? Labor's message just isn't washing over. "He couldn't have got to where he was if he didn't have all the qualities he needs." Ms Van Loo, when asked about Gillard's feisty parliamentary address, said if anything, the PM's famous misogyny speech distanced her from the average voter. "We all disagreed with what she was saying," said Van Loo. "It was actually detrimental to her, to be honest." Nepean Hospital midwife Kerry Toswill said she would be voting for Mr Abbott. "Everything has become so expensive, like childcare," she said. "None of the promises about hospitals were kept, they are shocking. "I do like how (Mr Abbott) gets amongst the people and unlike (Ms Gillard) he's got some common sense," she said. "(Mr Abbott) can be a bit too much of a macho man though, he needs to tone down the aggression."

Looks like a family of strong women there! I can't imagine there'd be any place for a misogynist in that household. It's just another dishonest ploy of Juliar's to use gender issues to try to attack Abbott's character. But we females see through that sort of misandrist attack. The question is, does Juliar love being in control of males? I reckon so with her little houseboy Timmy waiting with slippers at The Lodge and drawing her bath. No wonder she hates strong men.

yes, I even found it difficult to believe that that lying scheming spinning bitch would get away with that "misogynist" crap campaign about Abbott.
"oh, if you criticise me (my lying and my crap incompetent government) then its not because Im a lying incompetent bungler, its because Im a woman.
Even this electorate isnt that soft a touch. As you say Stellar, we're told how we had arrived and how wonderful it was that a woman was now finally #1...what a disaster she has been for the women in top politics brand.
We've virtually got ourselves a female Richard Nixon, in terms of personal integrity. But Nixon wasnt nearly as fucking incompetent.

Well its guts up for Jules....one doesn't need to be einstein to know that..... Yep. One doesn't need to be an Einstein, but isn't it a lovely thought that red haired creature will be looking for a new job on Monday 16th September. My money's on National Secretary of the Health Services Union, seems that's where the money is these days, now that they're going to close government loopholes in the NSW coal mining sector!

I'm wondering if it's sort of unethical for a PM who is being investigated by the Victorian Fraud Squad to be actually campaigning for re-election?

That sorta sums it up. Make a gender issue out of it and dodge the flak.

What ever the case Volk.....I won't be voting for Abbott's either, perhaps an independent Democratic Socialist or just turn up at polling time and that's it...I'll vote for none of the bastards..afterall business calling the shots on the coalition is a form of corruption, perhaps worse.
And we still haven't got to the bottom of the AWB affair.
Trust none...

Have you ever wondered why Julia Gillard always has such a smug look on her face? The truth is she has already achieved her objective in becoming Prime Minister. I don’t think she cares if she wins the next election, in fact I think she is hoping she doesn’t.
In the last two years and eight months she has increased the base salary for an Australian Prime Minister from $340,704 when she was appointed on 24 June 2010, to $495,430, an increase of $154,726 or 45.41%. And by the terms of employment for Australian politicians she will be paid this as a Superannuation Entitlement for the rest of her life.
Her base salary is higher than that of the President of USA by 25%, more than double that of the UK Prime Minister and significantly higher than the leaders of Germany, France and Canada.
And this at the expense of Pensioners and Single Mothers. And you think the “dole bludgers” are the main ones bleeding you.
I doubt she will have to rush out looking. So why shouldn’t she look smug? She is laughing all the way to the Bank.

What will these jolly nice girls think when Abbott sacks 20,000 public servants, cuts benefits to the needy and the flow ons from such crap impinges on the private sector resulting in jobs being loist there as well?..... Oh yes, they will think of assylum seekers and rampant Arabs that are terriying nice little Aussie girls and then wax orgasmic over old flappy ears......

And we still haven't got to the bottom of the AWB affair. Is someone still looking? Volk is right. Did Rudd continue to pursue the AWB affair after he'd become PM? Issues that Oppositions use to embarrass governments tend to be dropped once the Opposition becomes the Government. To complain that "we haven't got to the bottom of the AWB affair" just means that the AWB thing just gets added to the list of "affairs" that were once hot button issues but are now yesterday's news. Spindrift might complain about that and he's right to complain but that changes nothing. Spindrift, mate, we still haven't got to the bottom of the Petrov Affair! Why should the AWB affair be any different? I'm sure there's a stack of stuff from WW2 that we haven't got to the bottom of, like "Was the Japanese air raid on Pearl Harbor a triumph of British Intelligence?" For that matter I'm certain that there are questions about the Joan of Arc Affair that demand answers!! Should we set up a triage??

I wouldn't mind betting there are grievances that should have been taken up with Lord Kitchener that still lie gathering dust. Should we deal with them first and the AWB affair can wait its turn?
