Jody have you tried, um, how on earth can I word this? Hmmmm Um, well, you know, the 'Big O'? Not the singer. If you haven't got a partner, something that runs on batteries or a power cord works. Feeling real awkward now.

lol Salem....soooo not interested in the big o Buzz my lifestyle is what it is. There are times where I can't sleep and no amount of anything will help that. I will do the banana and milk things when Dan is at respite though....it ma help me sleep better on my few nights off.

No I do believe you Buzz. I have read many times that both help bring on sleep. The issue is for me to be alert enough in my sleep to tend to Daniel through the night if he needs me..It's why my doctor prescribed temaze. it helps you go to sleep but doesn't keep you asleep. I really dislike taking medications though....so only take it now and then. I got about 4 hours last night and another hour this afternoon...but I had to lay down due to a migraine so that doesn't really count. Good thing is Daniel is sleeping ok at night right now and that does make it easier for me.

Jody, you should try and find a person who has the gift of healing. It is what I am going to do, as I want to be totally cured of everything.

I managed to get 6 hours last night....for me, that was pretty impressive.

Good to hear Jody...let's hope it continues.
As for bananas, my folks always said 'gold in the morning, silver at noon, lead at night' so I find it interesting the banana /warm milk thing for sleeplessness.
Glad to hear it since a warm banana smoothie before bedtime sounds just the ticket!

I've been up since 3am.....my kitchen is lovely and clean though I have five rostered-days-off from Friday to Tuesday (inclusive). Then I start work again Wednesday next week at 4:00am. Which means I'll be waking at 3:00am and getting out of bed shortly afterwards. Every six week work period, I spend roughly half of that time (apart from rostered days off) waking at 3:00am and starting work around 4:00am. I've been doiing it for many years, and it does screw up my sleeping patterns, but every few days I get so stuffed when I'm on those early starts that I crash around 4:00pm and sleep for eleven hours straight. Then I go back to skimping on sleep for a few days until I feel that urge for the HUGE sleep again.
However, whenever I take a couple of weeks (or more) off work, my sleep patterns get really screwed up and I either drop into a gradual later and later sleep pattern, or else I suffer from insomnia until I get back into that early (or late) routine again.
