Mrs Gort received one today, although we have no Afterpay account. A quick Google indicates that thousands of people have received a similar SMS recently ... So - don't panic.

I got one too. Recognised it as a scam and deleted it without opening. The only difference with this scam message was that there were no spelling or grammatical mistakes. Some people who do use Afterpay which I do not, might have opened the message. I used to get quite a few of those opportunistic messages with poor spelling and grammar but purporting to be from Telstra or some other legitimate business and it's just so obvious they're scammers.

With this one there was no link and no phone number just the Afterpay header and Here is your verification number ######
I suppose it could actually be from Afterpay as a means of promoting itself which is perhaps even more annoying. 🤔
