Oh! Puh-leeze!! Australia's national rugby league side the Kangaroos is set to discuss the adoption of the pre-game war cry made famous by the Indigenous All-Stars. Key points: The Rugby League Players Association has supported a discussion around the Kangaroos adopting the Indigenous unity dance The dance has been developed by the Indigenous All-Stars The Kangaroos are next in action at the World Cup in England in October The Rugby League Players Association has backed a "respectful process" to consider the Kangaroos performing the dance. This will be THE most embarrassing thing to happen to football. Fat men running around in nappies hitting sticks together while the team go through some crappy ritual with "war" cries which has NEVER been performed by aborigines ever in the past I imagine. Just their up-dated version to make it look better if that's possible. This is nothing more than a poor man's haka. Are they trying to make Australia a laughing stock?? Because if they are, they have succeeded!

Change happens Stellar...they feel good about it, all that matters. But I don't feel good about it Ponto. And they are representing Australia - not just the indigenous. They're trying to romanticise this idea of the noble warrior going into battle and if the Kiwis hadn't brought the haka into their pre match work up, they would never have thought it up themselves. It just doesn't come off as a spectacle ... rather more of a cringing embarrassment. And where did those shields with diamonds come from? The fact is, none of it is authentic.

C'mon you only care Stella because you want to make it an issue....they are setting up a tradition and that's fine.
Traditionally they didn't wear clothes...the nappies or loincloths was a white honkie intervention that became a tradition...so its largely symbolic.

What gives them the "right" to set up a tradition? Football is not part of their culture. It's part of ours. And they're welcome to play it same as everyone else. But they don't own the sport so no need to prance around the field in their phoney warrior guise and embarrass everyone. But just looking at the maori bunch, gee they're not much better when they look like this - Or this!
