I really hate watching sermons on YouTube from these new-age type churches were they read out of newer bible editions, or translations as they like to call them.
The reason they use them is because it doesn't suit them to use an authoritative English version, like the King James.
The King James Version isn't "God is all love" enough, so they use something different when it suits.
Guess what? God is NOT all love. In fact, God does hate certain things. I have no issue with that.

If the King James version was good enough for Jesus then it is good enough for me.

That statement is a heresy that directly contradicts scripture (1 John 4:16 Also, You'd be surprised to know that Jesus didn't speak in 16th century English. If you want a really precise translation, I suggest you learn some Greek and Aramaic and translate the original texts yourself.

Mad Matt’s “Christianity” is suspect in many respects.
I utter not a word of criticism of Matt for transitioning from the Judaism of his upbringing to Christianity. Christianity is by its very nature a proselytising faith so it always reserves a special welcome for the convert.
But as with all belief systems that are grounded in profound truths that arise out of profound questioning, it’s the journey undertaken by the convert that determines the nature and quality of the faith s/he ends up embracing. To me this journey must involve grappling in a deep way with St Paul, who basically is to Christianity what Mohammed is to Islam. I hasten to add that it involves more than just St Paul. Jesus has to be at the core, that goes without saying. But St Paul more than anyone else in the very early “Jesus movement” was instrumental in its transformation from being a troublesome sect within Judaism to a movement with global applications. In short St Paul was the first “Christian”.
This is hard and challenging and so far it continues to elude me. I find much to admire in Christianity and as a moral compass it remains unsurpassed. Nevertheless I’m too steeped in secular humanism and social collectivism to return to the faith I was brought up in. But when I say it’s hard and challenging I don’t mean it as a criticism. It ought to be hard and challenging. The last thing I want is a superficial faith grounded in cheap grace. And that’s what I wonder about Matt. He spams and grandstands about a “Christianity” which personally I find repellent and a grotesque parody. He makes atheism look good.

Matt resembles the Bible illiteracy that currently plagues America.
I don't hate him; but I am concerned for him.
He is following a lot of false teaching.
One shouldn't follow any gospel that raises man's desires above the purposes of God.
