Saw a perormance of Monteverdi's L'Orfeo in Melbourne while we were there, by the Australian Brandenburg Orchestra and an ensemble of extraordinary singers. The instruments were traditional Renaissance, even using gut for the strings. Held in the refurbished Hamer Hall, the acoustics were amazing and required no amplification for instruments or singers...as it should be
It was definately raised hair on arms stuff!
