Hermaphroditism - have you ever unpacked the term “hermaphrodite”? It’s a portmanteau name containing the names of a Greek god (Hermes) and a Greek goddess (Aphrodite). The idea is to refer to a human being who embodies traits common to both sexes. Cool, huh! Welcome to the future? Bullshit! Welcome to the present! and this has something to do with women's sport how? Only women should participate in womens sports. Mutants should have their own section if they insist on competing. A transgender is a mental disorder only and sports women shouldn't have to wear it.

Oh the outrage of you people. I so love it when you spit chips. What’s happened to Matt? Is he mellowing or something? Actually no I don’t believe someone like Matt actually “mellows”. If anything he’s becoming boring in his outrage. He used to be much shriller and more fanatical but now when he attempts “outrage” it comes across as try hard. Poor guy has lost his mojo. You on the other hand, and Stellar, are as banshee as ever. Positively certifiable. But never boring. It is however hilarious to see someone like you dismiss transgender people as suffering from a “mental disorder”.

Gee thanks for that enlightened remark Toots. Hitler had that idea too. But the aborigines had it first. Now the Dutch do it. You should be proud.

Voluntary euthanasia in NL? You equate that with compulsory culling of humans under the Nazis? Oh and BTW the voluntary euthanasia bill has all but passed through its stages in the SA State Parliament. We’re within weeks of it becoming law.

To conflate the two isn’t poetic licence, it’s being deliberately and mischievously misleading. The word is another of those portmanteau words that medicine is so full of. In all words of Greek origin that begin with “-eu”, the “-eu” part means “good”. So “euphoria” means “good feelings”, “eulogy” means “good speaking” or to speak well of someone dead. With “euthanasia” the “thanasia” part refers to the Greek god of death “Thanatos”. So “euthanasia” means “good death”. It’s somewhat different from “culling”. Incidentally in Ancient Greek if Thanatos was the god of death, the god of life was called Eros. It gives us “erotic”. It’s a lively feeling lol.

Euthanasia is not the same as culling. You’re talking about infanticide.
Euthanasia involves the consent of the the person who’s going to die.
Infanticide is murder. That’s the law.

I think Cascur is referring to that grossly (for want of a better word) disabled babies still in the womb are terminated....which is big difference from transgenderism.
While there are issues in sports with transgender males having an advantage, here's a suggestion how about acknowledging diversity isn't such a bad thing and just relax, take it easy, no reason to be outraged.

I think Cascur is referring to that grossly (for want of a better word) disabled babies still in the womb are terminated....which is big difference from transgenderism. You’re talking about abortion aren’t you? I think that here the pregnancy is terminated - and abortion law varies from state to state. In South Australia abortions must be performed before a time limit of 28 weeks of pregnancy. Abortions must be performed in a hospital and be approved by two physicians, and are also subject to a residency requirement (patient must be a resident of South Australia for at least two months). Under these circumstances a deformity mightn’t be obvious during such a short time window so if a pregnancy goes to full term and the baby is grossly deformed I’ve heard it’s quietly allowed to die. This is a gruesome topic and I don’t enjoy addressing it. The problem is when you try to codify protocols to deal with situations like this. The devil is always in the detail and each case would be different. So it’s done with a nudge and a wink. But what the hell would I know! I’m not a medical professional. I’m pretty sure Megan and Stellar are going to spot this post and will make a comment that’s much more informative than I could ever be. In fact I would welcome it if they do and if my comments are full of factual errors then please correct them. But Toots appeared to be drawing a parallel between the euthanasia and mercy killing practices in the Netherlands (which I am not very informed about - should I be?) and the genocidal practices of Nazi Germany. If a Western European country today allows a deformed newly born human baby to die, or they assist in the process, they do so in a spirit of mercy. The Nazis weren’t merciful. They were obsessed with their grotesque distortions of Darwinian survival-of-the-fittest. While Darwin left that up to nature and had “natural selection” as the operating principle behind evolution, the Nazis substituted themselves for nature. The result was Dr Mengele. But Toots and Matt need their outrage Ponto. These aren’t relaxed and laid back people. Maybe I’m being unfair to Toots. She can take a joke and can be funny herself - in her own loopy way. But Matt takes himself sooo seriously. I think that if you deprived Matt of his outrage you’d destroy the poor bugger.

Cascurrie will have to define what she means by mutant people, and its a narrow field when she is calling transgender people mutants.
People are all different and we live in age of diversity, and who wants to go back to the old days when conservative values would take children and babies away from mothers, a stark dull society of conformity meat and 3 veg, the same conservative element who hate and fear multiculturalism diversity, people who judge others.
Just accept diversity and change happens.., much like Tats were once frowned upon by conservatives its all artistic expression, and if you cannot accept peoples freedom to express themselves as they see themselves then ignore it...don't stress over it.
Show outrage over what's killing the planet and life itself...climate change.

A person of my acquaintance has come out as transgender. She - she uses the feminine pronoun and lives as female - looks like any other middle aged lady you’ve ever met. She’s retired now after a full working career both in the public and private sectors. I’m not going to discuss the particulars of this individual case but she’s a friend and I believe her. Knowing her over quite a few years now has taught me that trans people are, like gays, just ordinary people and are more common than you think. They’re out there in the community. They’re your neighbour, your work colleague or the person next to you in the supermarket checkout queue. They’re not “mutants” to be “culled”. Unless you’re a Nazi of course and you believe that “natural selection” means that you as the “master race” get to do the selecting.

Carlotta is a good example of how transgenderism will evolve into something more mainstream.
Fear not diversity....it is interesting.

I even posted a bloody link. No, I am not talking about foetus,... Babies between 0-1 year old can be put down like an old pet if they are deformed or whatever in Holland. You never even glance over links I post... don't be scard, it is a BBC link.

acknowledging diversity isn't such a bad thing and just relax, take it easy, no reason to be outraged. Yes it is, imagine rightly complaining about mental transgender mutts and then being the victim of cancel culture. You haven't thought all of all this through. Pandering to mental transgender nut cases is WRONG.

Carlotta is a good example of how transgenderism will evolve into something more mainstream. Fear not diversity....it is interesting. Carlotto is one of my most favourite people on the planet. Even she once admitted she should never have had a sex change on Beauty and the Beast and just lived a life as a gay man. And I saw one other American person say the same thing on a mid day show...like the Sally Jesse Raphael or similar. Stop pandering to mental illness and reconize for what it is. And I am not talking about actual real hermaphrodites either.

Carlotta dragged me up on stage at Les Girls! She was looking in the audience and spied me ... and then she said "now that beautiful young blonde over there" ... and promptly dived into the audience and pulled me out. I didn't want to go but my boyfriend who became my husband, pushed me up there too. Quite embarrassing it was - but then it was meant to be. But I agree, Carlotta is one of a kind.

That show was considered to be very risque in those days! For instance, I never told my parents I was going there. Anyway, she asked me my name and where I was from. And then when I told her she blurted out "oh, the North Shore! Well our audience is getting very ritzy ... just joking darling."
