Frothing at the mouth? Hysterical? You're the one who typically overrreacts when anyone - esp a conservative - expresses an opinion which you disagree with. And I don't hate Chinese people - just their communist govt and its supporters. There's no place for people like that in our country. But surely even you would agree we need to be in control of our food security? That's why the govt blocked the sale of Dairy Farmers to the Chinese. With the wonderful result that it was bought by Bega - a win win result all round. You would agree, wouldn't you? And as for those patriots storming the Capital Bldg, some have turned out to be Democrats! Fancy that! I'm not surprised though - although you will be in denial. As for the Palestine govt, yeah I heard that on the radio. It fits Palashay to a tee. And there she is frothing at the mouth about Qld tourism businesses going broke. And wants the Fed govt to pay out to make up for their losses. The bloody hide of her! She's the reason they've gone broke. Her exclusionist policies to lock everyone else out of her state. And now she's crying for a mass of federal funding ... well stiff shit. She made Qld's bed and now they can all bloody lie in it!

And how is it that I over react....by drawing attention to RW extremism is the major security threat to the west..??....oh that just an over reaction should just ignore the patriot brethren ...crikey we lucky Trump was deposed.
The Chinese communist government is what it is, same with Russia, perhaps when Russia as communist state falls and a democracy arises then China may follow....that is a future scenario no one can predict that now, yet China under communism has grown is a super economy, lifting its people out the mire of serfdom, and now a part of the global economic stratosphere, that's the reality.
Focusing on China while ignoring the (food and intelligence) security threats of other nations, and the misdeeds of what Australia does such as the mistreatment of refugees with long term detention, and with food who claimed Australia was open for business while sucking the rivers dry for cropping......is all a diversion with the government and RW media frothing at the mouth yapping China China China while sicking the dogs to bark up trees as a distraction away from Australia's and America's politic.
Some Democrats, yes some civil ignorant folk were caught up with Trumpism, that doesn't distract from the fact that well organised and trained armed RW extreme militia were the ones now ere responsible for breaking into Capitol Hill under the instigation of Trump....you rather blow a look over here rather than acknowledge RW extremism is the major threat to security...China may pose a threat but then if that was to happen it is only because RW extreme kooks came to power.

I love the way Stellar has latched on to the claim that some of the people who stormed the Capital turned out to be Democrats. Stellar it's a fallacy, it's simply not factual. The people who stormed the Capital building regardless of any Party Affiliation were either there to support Trump or were there to support a group which supports Trump. They were not there to support Biden Stellar, they attended a rally called by and attended by Trump, he then told them to march on the Capital and show strength and take it back. I think it is a trifle silly of you to harbour the belief that somehow it was Democrats behind it all.

Now this is RW think tank thinking....they knowing Trump for weeks and months has been ramping his followers up with his conspiracy theories that has cumulated into revving the followers into insurrection with peoples motors racing and not connecting the gears that Trump was espousing was lies...bullshit...a hoax...so they will try and divert away Trumps responsibility for the Capitol Hill violence and his people shitting and smearing it over the walls and offices of the building which is a shrine to democracy, now make claims that Trump and his followers were not responsible for the insurrection and attempted coup on capitol hill....either fooling themselves or attempting to fool the civil ignorant...what it is for those that are not easily fooled and can see its just blatant refusal to accept what is right and the truth.

Not factual? Just because you don't want to believe the truth does not mean that it didn't happen. There were antagonists amongst the crowd and they were not all Trump supporters. You are delusional if you believe that. It was 100% pure Trump. Bender when it comes to Trump luvvies with their QAnon fantasies and fetishes you’d be amazed at how easily and quickly rational fact-based argument gets dismissed as “fake news”. It’s Flat Earth Society denialism. The rest of the world can see that the world is round but for these people that’s “fake news” pushed by the “lamestream media”. Instead they politicise it so that the proven fact that the world is round becomes an “opinion” that they disagree with because they claim to possess “alternative facts”. So “round earthers” become leftist agitators who threaten the way of life of good wholesome clean living flat earthers. There’s nothing new in this. Have you ever heard of the Shroud of Turin? For centuries the claim was made, and it was accepted as an article of faith, that the Shroud of Turin was the very shroud that Jesus had been wrapped in when his body was taken down from the cross all bloody from having had nails driven through his hands and feet, a crown of thorns rammed into his head and having been subjected to a fair bit of flogging. So it appears, so the story goes, that his bloodied body left an imprint on the Shroud like a photographic negative. How the Shroud ended up in Turin is totally beyond me but for hundreds of years Christendom was awash with “Holy Relics”: nails from the True Cross, splinters of wood from the True Cross ... all available for the right price. It was medieval Christendom’s great business model along with the sale of indulgences and it was such a scam that it led to the Protestant Reformation but that’s another story. Back to the Shroud of Turin. It still exists today! But here’s the thing: modern forensic science has analysed the cloth and dated it with 100% scientific certainty to the 13th century - some 1300 years AFTER the Crucifixion. So it’s a forgery. It’s fake. Who knew? Now here’s the real kicker: notwithstanding the proof by modern forensic science that the Shroud of Turin is a 13th century forgery, there are fruitcakes and Jesus freaks who insist that it’s the real deal. How can you reason with people like this? The answer is that you can’t anymore than you can reason with people like Matt who insist in spite of all evidence to the contrary, that the events in Washington on January 6th were driven by leftist agitators and agents provocateurs. So there you have it: in the Flat Earth universe lies are truth, squares are circles, black is white and smoking is good for you.

Hysteria hubris over China....the object of war is to gain advantage and there is no advantage in a nuclear war, what's the point in taking over a nuclear wasteland of flattened buildings and toxic ground that cannot be used for agriculture or indeed not habitable....so nah to war...what will happen is that China will develop a nasty virus that kills people and leaves everything intact...!!!

Sorry to hear that. But at least you don't have to go through the added pain of an operation. What arm was it? You might have to try one finger typing. Difficult I know. On the other hand, take a complete rest. i type one finger, left hand. i am right handed... i can't do anything. i sleep in a recliner chair. i have serious sleep deprivation as well but two full weeks have gone by and i've read by week 4 matters should improve... operations risk bone infection and that is why they don't do operations very much. the outpatient clinic was FULL of children and old ladies with fractures. it's a very busy section.

I’ve shared your pain, Caskur. Spiral fractures are no joke. Sounds like you’re going to have your upper arm in plaster for some time. Useless to wish you a speedy recovery. I’m sure you’ll prefer a steady and complete recovery. Are you still on pain killers? Of course after the orthopods have finished with you there’s physio. I got a spiral fracture of the tibia in my right leg plus fractures of the fibula a couple of decades ago while kicking a soccer ball around with the Year 8s. A couple of weeks in hospital plus months at home. Fortunately it was classed as a workplace injury so everything was covered by workers compensation. So I do have an insight or two into what you’re going through.
One thing though, the accident followed by the long recovery process made me rethink my whole approach to diet, lifestyle and exercise. I had the good fortune to have a GP who supervised my recovery and a physio lady who both spent time talking through these issues with me. It can be a life changer. It’s the silver lining to an otherwise shitty situation. Take care of yourself.

There was nothing even remotely like "hysteria" in that article. You are turning out to be the Chinese commo govt's greatest advocate! I can only conclude that your Chinese SIL seems to be brainwashing you. China is not a benign superpower - you really need to get that through your thick skull.

So now you're saying that the "hysteria hubris over China" was just satire. Yeah, right. Now here's another problem about to develp on our doorstep. I imagine you will be lauding the Chinese for their business acumen. But there is a very distinct threat to Australian security ... A Chinese company has put forward a multi-billion-dollar plan to build a new city on the Papua New Guinean island of Daru, which sits on the nation's sea border with Australia. It says the "ambitious plan" is "predicted on an agreed Sovereign Guarantee based on a long-term BOT [Build Operate Transfer] contract". This is a real concern because this Sovereign Guarantee will virtually give them carte blanche to do whatever devious things they have in mind. Especially considering Daru Island lies in the Torres Strait and is only about 200 kilometres from the Australian mainland. www.abc.net.au/news/2021-02-05/chinese-company-plans-to-build-city-on-png-island-near-australia/13123698
