I love sausages. I also love mince. Naturally served up with mashed spuds, peas & gravy. MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM....

I have resisted the occasional urge to eat this sort of comfort food. While I like it, I know it's too fatty and will clog up the arteries. I tried the low fat lean snags but they just don't have the same flavour. Fat, sugar, salt -the three ingredients that make food extra yummy.

I refuse to eat crap, and I just eat the basics.
Fruit is God's gift, the sweetness is his perfect gift for us. Vegetables, grains and a tiny bit of meat.
Why do we need processed shit?

Kiwithrottlejockey is asking for an early grave by the looks of it. All that fat that he eats, it is really disgusting.

Must explain my addiction because I also love to mash pumpkin with potatoes. But I don't add gravy - more likely to add heaps of parsley and chives. And did I mention loads of black pepper! And yep - that's what I fed my kids on when they were babies - mashed potato, pumpkin, peas, carrot, cabbage etc with some very finely minced steak, lamb, chicken or fish. We only had gravy with a roast. Unlike mothers today most of us made all our bubs' meals ourself - nothing from a tin or jar was good enough! They ate what we ate - with the exception of curries and highly spiced food of course. When my son is old enough for solids, we'll be making our own baby food. I remember my grandmother saying that she used to feed my mum exactly what she ate. She would take a serve, chew it, then take it out of her mouth with a spoon and feed it to her. I know it sounds disgusting, but Jews are tight arses, and will buy 1000 apples if they're on special and deep freeze them!

any person who does that is seriously messed up. I have no issue blending up baby food but chewing it up and feeding it to the baby is disgusting. That weirdo Alicia Silverstone does this with her child....whackjob imho.

As for sausages....I cook mine when we have them which is approximately once a month) in my George Foreman grill, all the fat runs out, far healthier.

Keen to make my own sausages, then you know exactly what goes in them.
I have a smoking kit which I have been experimenting with. Salmon fillets smoked are the best!...i tried chicken, but turned out a bit dry( the smoker gets quite hot) Best, though was smoked mussels! I bought some frozen mussel meat from woollies, brined them for 20 mins, air dried then smoked for about 10 mins ( it cooks them as we'll, so not so long) then stored them in garlic infused oil! Totally yum! Might do some for Christmas...
