What a load of shit.
And I see it quoted from that fraudulent, bullshit book too!
Not funny at all.
Religion in general is funny though.
It is farce.

Girl: “Forgive me father, for I have sinned.” Priest: “What have you done, my child?” Girl: “I called a man a son of a bitch.” Priest: “Why did you call him a son of a bitch?” Girl: “Because he touched my hand.” Priest: “Like this?” (as he touches her hand) Girl: “Yes father.” Priest: “That’s no reason to call a man a son of a bitch.” Girl: “Then he touched my breast.” Priest: “Like this?” (as he touched her breast) Girl: “Yes father.” Priest: “That’s no reason to call him a son of a bitch.” Girl: “Then he took off my clothes, father.” Priest: “Like this?” (as he takes off her clothes) Girl: “Yes father.” Priest: “That’s no reason to call him a son of a bitch.” Girl: “Then he stuck his you know what into my you know where.” Priest: “Like this?” (as he stuck his you know what into her you know where) Girl: “YES FATHER, YES FATHER, YES FATHER!!!” (after a few minutes) Priest: “That’s no reason to call him a son of a bitch.” Girl: “But father, he had herpes!” Priest: “THAT SON OF A BITCH!!!”

Are they? All of them? A hundred percent of 'em? Wow! That's some sweeping claim you're making there Ponto. Does that include Christians such as Desmond Tutu? Martin Luther King Jr? Or how about Tim Costello? Intolerant? Sure I can nominate plenty of intolerant Christians just as I can nominate plenty of intolerant atheists. Take this Religion Board as an example. Both of the trolls who spam the board with their intolerance are atheists. One of them is a self-proclaimed atheist and the other bullshits about not being "labelled" - while of course feeling very entitled to label everyone else. Nevertheless he looks like an atheist, he waddles like an atheist and he quacks like an atheist so it's safe to conclude that he is an atheist - and sets the global standard of intolerance. Strewth he even posts stuff calling for people he doesn't like to be murdered. How much more intolerant can it get! And you single out the bloody Christians? Every single one of 'em?
They forgive you.

PIt may surprise you Pim...but under all that cloak of Christain niceness they are all indeed intolerant of pagans who they think of as devil worshippers....Pagans just get a bum rap all round and I would say the most persecuted religion going.
Remember the ol' days ...convert to Christianity or die when Pagans were first in the world....long before Christians, Jews and Musso's.
You like victim causes but never stand up for the Pagans.....that's how persecuted they are....!!..not even the PC left likes em.

I believe in a two dollar Tooth Fairy. That's the going Tooth Fairy rate in Australia according to my grandchildren. Being currently in the UK with my partner's UK family I see that the Tooth Fairy cult is pretty strong here too. There are small children with wobbly milk teeth so I'm going to get a practical demonstration of the going Tooth Fairy rate in the UK. I strongly suspect it'll be way over £1. Market forces at work. Meshes well with neopaganism.

Just like they were lied to about Santa Claus.

Biblical Times: Hears voices in head - called 'a Prophet' Modern Times: Hears voices in head - called 'Schizophrenic' Modern times: hears voices in head - called "schizophrenic" by mainstream religions as well. Ancient Rome: hears voices in head - Quos Deus vult perdere, prius dementat - those whom the gods would destroy they first drive mad. It wasn't just about the Bible, it was about the state of scientific understanding at the time. And it's interesting that Freud and Jung, when seeking a metalanguage with which they could discuss their research into the human mind, delved into classical pagan Graeco/Roman mythology. The very words "psychology" and "psychiatry" come from Psyche - a goddess.

It's pretty telling that modern people are too dismissive, impatient, and ignorant to discern the difference. Our society preaches unity, tolerance, and understanding for all... Until we get to religion, it seems.

Believe it or not there were schizophrenic people in Bible times too. There sure were. They wrote a book called The Holy Bible. I guess this means those schizophrenic people were also con-artists.

Yes, yes... I know you are a subject matter expert, because you can repeat everything the echo chamber online has to say about the Bible. And you don't even have to actually look into it. Technology is great, isn't it?

Not so sure about that Grim. Think outside the square where religion is concerned. The mass cult these days is called the consumer society and the deity is called Mammon. Everybody participates in Mammon worship, at temples called shopping malls. The Mammon cult, or consumer society has its festivals, the biggest and most lavish being a former Christian festival which used to be called Christmas but under Mammon it's been shortened to Xmas. Easter is heading in the same direction as Xmas but hasn't reached the same heights of conspicuous overindulgence and consumption as Xmas. Give it time. To be honest I prefer Easter. I'm a bit "Bah! Humbug!" about Xmas. Mammon worship even has its prophets. They’re called "economists" and they have their own sacred language with terms like "Consumer Price Index", "Gross Domestic Product", "Interest rates" and so on. These prophets are regularly consulted and appear on the television news to pontificate about "trends" and the "market". Every year in May the nation’s chief prophet, called the Treasurer, gets up in a most sacred ceremony and delivers the Mammon cult's annual prophecy. This is called the Budget Speech and it's listened to in reverent silence and endlessly discussed and analysed by lesser prophets called journalists and commentators.
In the Name of the Market, the Bottom Line and the Invisible Hand.

The French still blame the English. The French far right hail her as one of their own. Marine Le Pen is attempting to appropriate her.
