Just been to see this... Very good! Ben Affleck is proving to be quite a good film maker.

I saw it a couple of weeks ago, the night after I saw Fresh Meat.
And I agree with you....it was very good.
The tension at the end was really something.

I was going to go see it but my daughter isn't interested and I hate going to the movies alone.

I actually prefer to go to movies by myself.
Being part of a group (or even a pair) means someone always commenting about something or being distractive in other ways.
I go by myself and select a part of the theatre where I have some space around me, then I can concentrate on the movie without distractions from others.

There's some bullshit in that movie though.
In the movie, the NZ embassy is shown as refusing any help to the Americans hiding in the Candian embassy.
Whereas in actual fact, NZ diplomats were heavily involved in facilitating the extraction of the Americans.
The movie director was challenged over that immediately after the movie premiere and attempted to brush it off. Later however, after the heat went on him a bit more and NZ news media threatened to make it front page headlines about the time the movie started screening in NZ, the director suddenly had a change of heart and called a press conference where he corrected the situation as shown in the movie.
Typical Americans who cannot get their facts right.

Typical Americans who cannot get their facts right. I don't think that's fair comment. Americans don't have a monopoly on not getting their facts right. Since Argo is a movie about embassies and consulates, there's no shortage of Australians and New Zealanders who are clueless about the difference between an embassy and a consulate and wouldn't know one if they bumped into it. Some questions for you KTJ - you have to answer within five seconds and no googling! 1. What is the principal diplomatic establishment representing your country in Australia called and where is it located? What is its address? Quick, KTJ!! And NO GOOGLING! tick tick tick tick tick ... BZZZT! I'm sorry KTJ! It's the New Zealand High Commission located on Commonwealth Avenue in Canberra between the Canadian and the British High Commissions. 2. Why is it called a "High Commission" and not an "Embassy"? Quick, KTJ! NO GOOGLING! tick tick tick tick tick ... BZZZZT!! I'm sorry KTJ! All countries which are members of the (British) Commonwealth of Nations refer to the diplomatic representation of member countries as "High Commissions". So Australia has a High Commission in Wellington, London, Ottowa and New Delhi, but an Embassy in Washington. 3. How many consulates does New Zealand have in Australia and where are they located? Quick, KTJ!! NO GOOGLING! tick tick tick tick tick ... BZZZZT!! I'm sorry KTJ! There are two New Zealand consulates in Australia - one in Sydney and one in Melbourne (dunno what all those Kiwis in Perth and Adelaide do if they need consular assistance!). Thank you for playing and have a nice day ...
