anyone got any advice, I tried to update my iPhone 5 with the latest update, it downloaded it but wouldn't install telling me there is an error, so went to more information, it said to update iTunes, did that then it said update the computer, did that and it still won't install...so my phone has froze asking me to plug into iTunes.

I can't use the phone it's frozen otherwise I would take it back to factory settings. I'd say I will need to take to an Apple shop.

Android can handle REAL music files.
iThingies can only handle those Mickey Mouse audio files from Apple.

A friend dropped her 5 in water but retrieved it quickly...it still worked except for the screen which lost its 'touch'capability After drying it and it still not responding she took it to one of our electricians on site who tried this... (it may take two people to do)
Hold down power and Home buttons together At the same time, flick the 'silent' switch on the side back and forth eight times
Sounds bizarre but it worked and she hasn't had a problem since

Maybe this isn't helpful, but whenever I have a problem with my phone - or anything else technical - I just hand it to either of my sons. Problem solved!

Uncompressed PCM (Pulse-Code-Modulation) is REAL music files. iCrap devices CANNOT handle uncompressed music files. MP3 is 'REAL' enough to play from a phone through headphones It is pointless to load up a small device with huge, high fidelity music files Regardless of how one defines MP3, you stated that "iThingies can only handle those Mickey Mouse audio files from Apple." With the right app, you can play just about any music or movie file format Read more: newstalkback1.proboards.com/post/72351/quote/4401?page=1#ixzz3czja6CAm

I will wait for my i6 to arrive then take the i5 to Apple and let them fix it and hopefully get all my photos and videos off it. I did back up but I won't let it go back to factory settings until I know everything is there or can be retrieved. I'll keep the i5 as my spare and give my Mum my old i4 which was my spare.

They really show up what is missing in MP3 compared to listening to PCM music files. I can put my Bose headphones on and listen to a recording of a symphony orchestra in a live venue and can literally place every musical instrument in the sound-stage just as you can in a world-class concert hall such as Sydney Town Hall or Wellington Town Hall, even if I'm sitting in a jetliner or on a train. If I listen to the same recording saved as a MP3 music file, the soundstage completely collapses and it just becomes common boom-box music.

You've obviously never used top-of-the-range Bose noise-cancelling headphones. I don't know why you think that's 'obvious' but I do in fact have a set of Bose NC headphones, QC25 to clarify...oh and in white before you ask They really show up what is missing in MP3 compared to listening to PCM music files. Interestingly (and disappointing at the same time ) According to these test results...
www.choice.com.au/electronics-and-technology/home-entertainment/personal-listening/reviews-and-tests/noise-cancelling-headphones
The Bose come only mid-field in terms of listening score.I can put my Bose headphones on and listen to a recording of a symphony orchestra in a live venue and can literally place every musical instrument in the sound-stage just as you can in a world-class concert hall such as Sydney Town Hall or Wellington Town Hall, even if I'm sitting in a jetliner or on a train. I bought mine more for the NC (they are still very good for that) as I have a weekly commute of 3,000km...gotta keep those screaming babies at bay!If I listen to the same recording saved as a MP3 music file, the soundstage completely collapses and it just becomes common boom-box music. And most people are satisfied with that if they are using their phone. They can fit more files on the device and are probably not too fussed with the quality if they are jogging or working.

As someone who in the past to days has had not one but two 90 minute haggling sessions with Telstra over their services and their bills I can confirm that it's worth going to the trouble and spending the time. I hope they're not going to bill you for that 60 minute call!

It was a 1800 number so shouldn't cost too much. To be honest I have never had a Telstra rep be so helpful...a very pleasant man who did his best to help me and I am very happy to be saving around $120 a month. Plus I am now going to have 200gb of data a month as I am getting a wifi modem.

My i6 is great. No issues with the battery at all really. Though I toss mine on the charger each night when I go to bed.
