what is concerning is just who Pakistan is supporting. Might be a bit of a shock for the right wing.

They must reckon that Obama has done more against terrorism than the Republicans would.
Garfluff must be pulling his hair out!

They must reckon that Obama has done more against terrorism than the Republicans would. Garfluff must be pulling his hair out! When John Howard was still Prime Minister, I think it was in early 2007 and it was in an interview with Laurie Oakes, he said something along the lines of "If I was the leader of Al Qaeda I'd be circling (inauguration day) January 20 2008 praying for Obama and the Democrats to win the 2008 election". I wonder how that assessment is working out for the former prime miniature?

In 2008 Obama promised "change you can believe in" and today Romney is promising "real change".
So many promises! That's the problem with Western electoral hype, candidates have to promise that they'll inaugurate a Golden Age if only the voters accept them as the Messiah. We suffer from that malaise in Australia too.
Two countries in the last 40 years have effected change that has been all-encompassing in a way that our politicians would be too scared even to attempt and too midget-like even to envisage or understand.
I'm talking about Russia under Gorbachev and China under Deng Xiaoping. They turned their countries round in a way that required courage that is so absent from our own political culture that we don't believe it exists.
That was real change. The rest is froth and bubble.

Considering that most people think an election is some sort of Big Brother lets all vote for the biggest smiley motherf#cker there is contest what hope is there?, Obama like Gillard is implimenting all the same policies that f#cked Europe ie, open slather immigration for non contributors, big government, endless cash for useless social programs and a bottomless pit of dough for wacky global warming schemes, another term of Obama and there will be a depression for sure but at least Buzz will be happy though ;D

LOL Nothing to do with me - the Debt Bubble has to be unwound and the asset bubbles reset - but China and Europe are rooted - so its a Depression anyway. The Prez has nothing to do with it. Nice to see you're still into all that sad-sack Chicken Little shit!

Yeah I guess so, eventually China will stop lending Obama money and then the shit will hit the fan considering he only collects 2 trillion in taxes a year but manages to spend 4 trillion LOL ... but hey he's the first celebrity president, no business experience, never managed anything at all but look at him he's so cool and he hangs out with all the Hollywood stars so lets get him to run the worlds largest economy for a bit of a laugh ;D

in this case it is more than right. What on Earth would you know you don't even vote, you wouldn't have a clue what the issues are, all you see is Mr handsome suave and sophisticated Obama and think oh he's nice, what a nice smile he has, I hope he wins.

I don't think Obama is handsome. He does come across as a decent man though. Is obviously in a good and loving marriage and has children who appear to be very balanced. Must have done something right. Romney looks like pure snake oil salesman.

Yep, it's Tabloid Garfield today. What happened to that Lucid Garfield? Y'know, the one who doesn't need to use F words or C words, who doesn't need to have a foul mouth, and who types posts using grammatical sentences and paragraphs. Whadya do with him, Tabloid? Kill him? My question to Jody seemed to upset you, Tabloid! You're crying "foul!" Did I do you an injustice? OK let's see your post to Jody again: What on Earth would you know you don't even vote, you wouldn't have a clue what the issues are, all you see is Mr handsome suave and sophisticated Obama and think oh he's nice, what a nice smile he has, I hope he wins. Let's try a bit of discourse analysis. Your post to Jody is in several parts. Let's be clear about this, we'll use your own words: Part 1: You challenge her right even to express an opinion by saying: What on Earth would you knowThe strong implication here is that you think Jody doesn't have a clue. And that's how you open your tirade. Part 2: You criticise Jody for even daring to express an opinion because, and I'm quoting you directly: you don't even vote. I'm assuming that means that since Jody doesn't vote in the US she's not qualified to express a point of view. Well then, I guess that disqualifies everybody here, including you garfield!! Part 3: This is where yyou go in even harder on the "clueless" bit and in fact you don't pull any punches: you wouldn't have a clue what the issues are. No doubt about that one! The message to Jody is clear! You're telling her she's clueless. In fact of the three parts I've looked at so far, two of the abuse directed at Jody are put downs that she's clueless. And we're only half way through. Part 4 is the longest part and it expands on the "you're clueless" put downs in the first half. In this part you bring in gender in a big way. Here it is: all you see is Mr handsome suave and sophisticated Obama and think oh he's nice, what a nice smile he has, I hope he wins.. Is that a gender-based claim or not? If Jody were a bloke you wouldn't be making that claim. You're telling her that she's a ditzy female who's clueless about politics and votes only on glamour. You can twist and squirm and hurl accusations (mind you I think the one about me being a single bloke therefore a pedophile is over-the-top and should be deleted), but those are your words garfield. Here they are again: What on Earth would you know you don't even vote, you wouldn't have a clue what the issues are, all you see is Mr handsome suave and sophisticated Obama and think oh he's nice, what a nice smile he has, I hope he wins.Decoded they translate as: "You're clueless about political candidates, Jody, because you're a woman"Yep! I reckon that translation is right on the button

They were deleted about 15 minutes ago Pim. I don't deny that I hate politics and usually steer clear of it all but who is President of the US does matter and is probably more important than our own PM. About 15 minutes ago I put this as a status on fb. "Good luck to Obama. We certainly don't want Snake Oil Selling Romney as leader of the "free" world." This is merely an opinion and I don't give a frig who agrees with it or not. As for Garfields insults.....says far more about him than me which is why I just laugh at him and ignore what he says.

Dunno about "very close" Earl Grey. Projections at this stage are 290 electoral college votes for Obama to 206 electoral college votes to Romney. Seems like a comfortable win to me ...

Ok, I wanted to keep out of this and I'll stun people with what I'm about to say, but well; I am happy Obama won. I am shocked and astounded at how extremist conservative the Republicans are. I'm conservative but I could NEVER, NEVER vote for a party that believes rape pregnancies are ordained by God or that women are biologically able to prevent a pregnancy from rape. It astounds me that Republicans are so UTTERLY *OBSESSED* with abortion. No pollie here even mentions abortion as there is no upside to it, its a topic that you just don't talk about or else people will think you belong in the nuthouse. TheRepublicans are way over above and beyond extreme extremists. I could never, absolutely never vote for a party whose pre-selected candidates believe the sort of truly scary things the republicans do. They horrify me. I'm sorry about the economic mess America is in but you need to look at the whole picture and ask what sort of morals and values you want in the whole package. Some of the republicans I feel are truly evil in the sense of the word. They really scare me. I don't want to know what laws they would enact for women if elected. Obama was, unfortunately, the only choice I feel, one could make and live with.

Well stated Salem....the extreme RW are not a party for the future, where they look down on the common people with disdain, those people vote and count.

Do you know what is really great?
Todd “legitimate rape” Aikin and Richard “rapist babies” Mourdock both lost.
Those two are total filth, and neither of them make it into the US government.
