my cousin purchased a new toshiba laptop and while she is sure it has a dvd, she can't figure out how to pen it and it does not have a manual....the normal just push it and it opens does not work. any have a clue?

It is becoming increasingly common that laptops don't come with a DVD drive, usually in the interest of lightness and portability. There are a heap of inexpensive external DVD drives available that plug into a USB port and I find this an acceptable alternative for the rare occasions I actually use it Stick and SD card storage are becoming the norm.

Grim that is what she is going to do. My daughter is going to get the same laptop where as I am getting something bigger.....you guys can give me an opinion if you like...remembering I am not a gamer.

I don't watch dvd's/blu-rays on my computer....well rarely so I guess it doesn't matter
