Today I have started on a course of Champix. Champix is a smoking cessation aid, and according to my GP works by acting as an antanongist on the receptors that nicotine attaches itself to. Theoretically that means that, eventually, when I have a cigarette, I won't get that 'feeling' of a nicotine rush. According to some material I have seen, it even helps to stop cravings, in the same way that Methodone "holds" Heroin addicts What I am wondering is if anyone here has also been proscribed champix ? How did they find it ? Did it effectively sway any nicotine cravings ? Did it stop that "nicotine rush" ? Would theyb recomend it ?

I know three people who have given up using champix. They believed it helped immensely.
