Jody, I know you have a sick child as you have stated this before, so I am not trying to be insensitive. If there really is a god, there would be no sick children. I just think that god doesn't make things better or worse for the simple reason that he or she just does not exist. and that is your choice Slarti. Same as it is my choice to believe what I believe.

I just think that god doesn't make things better or worse for the simple reason that he or she just does not exist. How does that follow? Have you exhausted all other possibilities that prayer may not be answered? Or did you just jump to your preferred conclusion?

I came up with the most logical conclusion, which in 99.99% of the time is the correct one.

You are free to believe in whatever you want, Jody. As am I.

God does not create disease, humans do. We treat the earth like shit, we pollute the food, pollute the water, use radioactive material and fracking to get gas. We think this has no consequence for our genes and diseases.
That isn't God's fault, that is the fault of mankind!

I agree you have logic, but it's faulty. As for being correct 99.99% of the time, of course you'd believe that. No one willingly believes in things they think are incorrect.

You are free to believe in whatever you want, Jody. As am I. Not if naturalistic evolution is true. Your beliefs are prescribed by your genetic tendencies. Your DNA decides what you believe. Free will would be an illusion. (You only think that you are free to believe)

Smate.....if that bullshit book is to be believed, god committed genocide on a MEGA-scale when he/she/it flooded the entire earth and wiped out all human beings apart from Noah and his kin.
How sick is that? Indulging in that sort of mass-murder on such a scale?

*SPOILER: Everyone dies.* So what are you trying to say?
Is it that I can go and get a military assault weapon and fit a 100-round magazine to it, then run amok in the main street of my town and kill as many human beings as I can, but it won't matter because everybody is going to die anyway?
Religionists have such SICK logic to justify their delusional bullshit!

Only if you can also restore or create life. ..Can you do this?
Then I guess you don't have the right to take it.
The logic is sound: "Man is not equal to God."

God does not restore life. Once you're gone, it's yibbedy yibbeda time.

God does not restore life. Once you're gone, it's yibbedy yibbeda time. You reject that He restores life, but you are okay with the creation part, eh? ;D Well first off, your whole position doesn't make any logical sense. You reject that God restores life because (I assume) you assert that he doesn't exist; Yet, in the same breath, you accuse this 'non-existent being' of immorality for the slaughter of millions.

Where am I okay with the creation part? There is no God, so he creates nothing and restores nothing.
The reason I accuse this non-existent being (your words, not mine, you can't be non-existent and a being) of "the slaughter of millions" (your words, not mine), is that IF you believe in the Bible and IF you believe the Bible tells the truth, then you must accept that God is a multiple murderer. Either that, or the Bible tells lies.
Which is it? It can't be both.

KTJ, do you say that to Muslims who get down on their prayer pillow several times a day regardless of where they are to spend time in prayer?

KTJ, do you say that to Muslims who get down on their prayer pillow several times a day regardless of where they are to spend time in prayer? I would if they posted at any of the online forums I post at. But they appear to be a bit thin on the ground around here and elsewhere.
The only time I can recall seeing Muslims make dicks of themselves by getting down on prayer mats was on the side of Highway 1 in the South Island about eight years ago, and I was doing about 120km/h when I noticed them as I flashed past. I certainly wasn't going to waste my time turning around and driving back to tell them they were dickheads when I had to get to Christchurch to catch a flight.

Either that, or the Bible tells lies. Which is it? It can't be both. Well since it tells us early on "The wages of sin is death" (That's in the Bible too), and we went ahead and sinned, anyway. How is God unjustified in carrying out the sentence? You got it wrong. --He's the warden, not the murderer.

"Then I heard the LORD say to the other men, "Follow him through the city and kill everyone whose forehead is not marked. Show no mercy; have no pity! Kill them all – old and young, girls and women and little children. But do not touch anyone with the mark. Begin your task right here at the Temple." So they began by killing the seventy leaders. "Defile the Temple!" the LORD commanded. "Fill its courtyards with the bodies of those you kill! Go!" So they went throughout the city and did as they were told." (Ezekiel 9:5-7 NLT)
The warden who instructs to kill.
