Did I suggest Normie Rowe was an atheist? No. Do I care who Normie Rowe even is? Nope.
I was referencing the actual topic of the conversation, and not compulsively vamping on a single word to increase my post total.
My point was a reduction in church attendance doesn't necessarily reflect an increase in Atheism. In fact, I've read somewhere, that despite this trend; atheist numbers have remained fairly static.
Also 8% of those who call themselves atheists also say they believe in God or a universal spirit.

Religion belongs in the 17th century and earlier.
We are now in the 21st century where there is no need to pander to the god delusion inside the minds of human beings.

Is this a debate about history or theology? I relish the idea of taking you on on either front - or both!

As was once stated by Voltaire 200 years later, and we are still waiting for that prediction to come to fruition. It must be very frustrating for you.

I thought you were actually reasonably happy to have what you call "banter" in the threads since you did actually say recently that "banter" would be helpful to you. Hence my light-hearted musical post of Normie Rowe. Granted, but my desire was for "witty" banter.

Sadly, many human beings are displaying that they are so primitive in their thinking that, not only do they listen to the god delusion inside their minds, but they are also too weak to exist and stand on their own two feet and still need the crutch of religion. Not to worry....the number of “intelligent” human beings who can see that god delusion for what it is, ie....a delusion, is growing rapidly in western countries, the U.S.A. excepted, but then again, they elected a moron as their president, so that tells us a lot about the collective intelligence levels prevailing in that country. I am very grateful that I live in one of the more intelligent western countries. YOU, sporky, also live in one of the “intelligent” western countries, but sadly you are still indulging in dark-ages clap-trap.

It's amusing how you count yourself among the "Intelligent", as though you've given this any contemplative thought at all. If a higher Intelligence, whether you call it "God" or not, doesn't exist in this universe, then ultimately you can't account for yours. Your position is self-refuting.

"It is as impossible for man to demonstrate the existence of God as it would be for even Sherlock Holmes to demonstrate the existence of Arthur Conan Doyle." - Frederick Buechner

What if "God" is a fictional character just like Sherlock Holmes? That is a pretty big "what if" considering raw natural forces have a general tendency toward disorder. Imagination implies a mind, and there is no way to account for a source of imagination in a Godless universe.

Is this the 5 minute argument or the full half hour? Is that rhetorical, or are you just deflecting?
