The United States is a brilliant nation and its democracy is strong. They have a strong executive, strong legislature and strong judiciary. They have culture which Australia does not. We should become more like the United States of America.

I always wish I was an American, they have so much pride in their nation. I would have to live in a non-capital punishment State though.

I like some aspects of the American "system". For example: we ought to get rid of the archaic horse-hair wig bulldust from our courts. The judges in the Federal Court do not wear the wig. Don't quote me, but I also think the Justices in the High Court don't wear the wig on a day to day basis either, just in ceremonies.

our legal system is dopey....but I wouldn't live in America or want Australia to be like them in any way.

If you want America, go there. I'd much rather Australia any day. Better laws, no presidency to the highest bidder, should they ever get someone good again, they can still only have 2 terms (why? ?). They never seem to have the best person for the job, the last one with brains was Clinton and his mind was usually elsewhere.

PS. Our economy is hell of lot stronger than the US.
