Yesterday, I bought myself a new toy, a Samsung Handicam. Film making has always held a fascination with me, so, armed with a Do-it-Yourself book that I bought at ACMI, I bought a handi-cam. Now, the next thing I need is some editing software, Jody, you might be the most knowledgeable on this subject. What are some good, cheap , editing suites out there for download, any ideas would be gratefully received.

I went to download Adobe Premiere, but at 1.3 Gb or some such, it was way to large. I did download a 'freeware' editor and today is my RDO, so I'll spend some time mucking around with it.

Premiere Elements is a slimed-down version of Premiere, just as Photoshop Elements is a slimed-down version of Photoshop.
I use Premiere Elements 11 and find it to be capable of doing anything I want to do in the way of video editing.
