I am flicking between stations... I am on ch 9. The commentary has been VERY gracious. I just finished watching Scommo... he gave a great speech. Josh was very emo... I felt sorry for him. His wife was very sad for her husband.

It was a win for climate action and rejection of RW Christian values....the intelligent people in safe Liberal seats called for action on climate and the less educated people or Sky News watchers were the only ones whovoted for them.
The people are more sophisticated than the Libs thought rejecting the divisive US Republican politic divisiveness ' we don't need a integrity commission' etc which is a good thing.
Frydenberg lost his vote due to the fact he tried to pork barrel the seat of Kooyong, the people rejected that just as they rejected Keneally.
At least ScoMo was gracious in defeat unlike Trump and US style politics.
The party will move further to the right with Dutton or Angus Taylor...Dutton is a head kicker and the people dislike that and Taylor is just a climate denier and the people dislike that, obviously the people rejected the unprogressive trajectory of RW Christian values and society cannot survive without coal ideology....the Australian people want progressive ideas not dinosaur thinking.

I do hope that you are as scathing about China when you're talking about climate change! Yet you never seem to mention them or the impact China is having on the planet's weather. It's almost as if you believe Australia is wholly responsible for global emissions! Read this article and see just how little Australia impacts on climate change compared to the big guns. Why China's climate policy matters to us all By David Brown BBC News Published: 29 October 2021 China's carbon emissions are vast and growing, dwarfing those of other countries. Experts agree that without big reductions in China's emissions, the world cannot win the fight against climate change. In 2020, China's President Xi Jinping said his country would aim for its emissions to reach their highest point before 2030 and for carbon neutrality before 2060. His statement has now been confirmed as China's official position ahead of the COP26 global climate summit in Glasgow. But China has not said exactly how these goals will be achieved. Explosive growth While all countries face problems getting their emissions down, China is facing the biggest challenge. Per person, China's emissions are about half those of the US, but its huge 1.4 billion population and explosive economic growth have pushed it way ahead of any other country in its overall emissions. www.bbc.com/news/world-asia-china-57483492

If the Libs pick Angus Taylor as leader they are mad. They would deserve to stay in the wilderness for a decade. It's actually a very tough time for them as who to pick, the choices are not great.

This is a great result for Peter Dutton. With Frydenberg out of the way and Angus Taylor too damaged by some of the decisions he made whilst a Minister to ever be a shot at Opposition Leader Dutton's pretty much assured of the Leadership.

When Senator Lidia Thorpe wore that "skins" cape on her first day in the Senate, I doubt i was the only one to think of the companion Leela from Tom Baker era "Doctor Who".

Oh the irony of a muslim being sworn in as Minister for Science!! Irony? I’d call it ‘progressive’ considering the ‘Christian’ LNP didn’t even have a science minister for a number of years All the visible stars in the sky have Arabic names ’Algebra” is an Arabic word Muslim architecture and art is founded on sacred geometry developed long before Fibonacci was a twinkle it think Ed will do just fine

Well I think their "golden" age is well and truly over! For instance, what have they done in the field of medicine, physics, chemistry since the 1200s? Just thinking about the comparison between the Jews and mussos: The mussos have won a grand total of three (3) Nobel prizes in the field of science .... 1 for physics and 2 for chemistry. And that's from a pool of 1.8 billion! Compare that with the Jews who have won 35 for Chemistry 51 for Medicine and Physiology, and 58 for Physics. And that's from a pool of a mere 15.2 million! Remember that mussos believe implicitly in the words of the Qur'an. Whatever Mohammed said or did, is the benchmark by which mussos must live their lives. Because he was the "perfect" man! And the less said about Mohammed, the better. But Ed must believe in him because he took his oath on the Qur'an.

ps ... in contrast, Anthony Albanese, a Catholic (but obviously non practising), took a secular affirmation of office. No mention of "God."
